Only in Seattle and Washington a couple times a year, but I haven't seen anything whatsoever to indicate UW sports marketing either has a clue or gives a shit.
For example: Returned home to the South three days before the semifinal game against Texas.
Saw absolutely nothing at Sea-Tac that would make me think anybody gave a shit about UW Football — or, for that matter, that the Huskies were playing in one of the biggest games of the year.
Objectively speaking, it was pitiful.
Before someone says "Well, that's Sea-Tac, there was nothing anyone at UW can do about it" … Alaska Airlines is one of UW's biggest corporate partners — and no single private entity has more pull at that airport than Alaska Airlines.
UW's sports marketing easily could've gotten something done if they gave a shit.
- collectible UW baseball/softball batting helmet nachos. One dollar from each sale to baseball/softball NIL.
- collectible UW rowboat jumbo hotdog. One dollar from each sale to men’s/women’s rowing NIL
-collectible mini UW football helmet ice cream sundaes. One dollar from each sale to football NIL Make sure to rotate helmet designs to match game helmet design.
The airport should be low hanging fruit for UW to market merchandise. Plenty of other big city airports feature in state college stuff.
UW is also missing an opportunity to buy advertising space in the terminals so arriving passengers see the UW brand before they even realize their luggage has been stolen off the carousel.
If football is the front porch of the school, the airport is the front porch of the city.
Does SeaTac allow homeless people to camp out overnight? The last couple trips to Seattle I’ve flown in at night or left early morning and noticed homeless looking people entering/exiting.

Knew this wasn't related to Husky Football.
UW's sports marketing is the most useless operation on the planet.
Be fascinating to find out exactly why it's so fucking terrible
Yes, it is bad. Strange as it seems, also significantly improved. No doubt it is not "there" yet.

Clearly they don't

And what is the front porch of the airport?
The jetway obviously.
@Logistics?
The front porch of the airport are the legalized molestation lines that is under the guise of "TSA security."
I would have replied directly to Derek by quoting his post but the FS vanilla tells me that my post was 53349 characters too long.
