The 20 safest and most dangerous national parks
Neat.
North Cascades is a lovely park of death. Very few enter the park and the ones who do like to fall off mountains. I'm brimming with pride.

Another thing is the only way into the North Cascades Park is through Concrete. Concrete has some slight things that might make it seem like a cute/quaint national park adjacent town for the new yuppies who are flocking to the park from Seattle/Bellingham to like but it's a dark place. If you go to the Skagit County cold cases page almost all of them are around that town. There are about 1-2 murders and 1-2 missing people who pop up from there a year and the murders tend to be macabre.

Buddy did search and rescue at Zion. Noted biggest issues were people not prepared for the weather, especially early Spring. Noted a few rock climbing falls as well.

Ah yes, Concrete, the Gold Bar of Highway 20. I just took a drive through Concrete for old time's sake. Lot of Baker Lake materials purchased there. We should have stopped earlier.

Tales of Angel's Landing death at Zion are always fun because I can picture it. It's rush hour traffic up there these days, bound to be accidents. Boy, would that be a sight.

3 kids I went to HS with died at North Cascades, always chalked it up to Darwinism

You're looking for the Most Rapey City Parks list. That's not covered here.

several reasons for the safety: 1. Small area, like 10 city blocks; 2. Federal, so officers are better trained than city officers and more plentiful; 3. The typical STL city crime is a black thing. Much easier places to rob a tourist than at the Arch. Parking lot, to and from a restaurant at the landing (next to Arch); 4. Crowds. Always lots of people around. And STL criminal element does kinda stick out in tourist areas.
Been 25 years since someone was shot at the Arch. As I recall, it was a family thing. Might have been a family reunion where someone fingered the wrong cousin.
