Aggressive policing is now essentially illegal and in most cases, a cop does the hard work and the criminal is released on no bail and charges are plead down to a misdemeanor and no jail time. At least that got the Portland/Multnomah Co. Soros DA canned by the voters who woke up at least for a moment.
Now do the US military. And they wonder why recruitment goals aren't being met and enlistment qualifications are being reduced.
If I ever abused anyone's rights they sure as hell needed it. Most don't want to know what it takes to keep the public safe. And now the public is not safe in any way means shape or form. Shit my dad di fucking police work. Criminals no longer fear the police or the justice system We don't fix that we're fucked. Well not me but all yo city dwellers. No one will come to save you.
I'm OK with aggressive policing, as long as they follow the constitution... unfortunately I have been harassed enough up here (for some reason they like to harras Uber drivers keeping people safe) that I have ptsd from the police now.... they make up shit here. A few months back I was pulled over because I didn't stop at a stop sign.... except I literally stopped for 5 seconds because there were so many cops out and I didn't want to get pulled over... they did anyway... I was pissed and went off on the jackass when he said that was why he pulled me over... I went to court and requested the dash cam footage... and mysteriously the next day the prosecution dismissed it.In other words they watched the video and showed that I had stopped.
Shit like that needs to stop.
I am now glad I do it part time only as I am tired of dealing with police just trying to do my job... in 3 years here, I have been pulled over 20 times a few accused of being drunk when I hadn't had a drink in 6 months at the time. If they didn't have cameras I'd be in jail right now.
For prospective, in the Bay Area, in 20 thousand rides I only got pulled over twice...
In Kali there are 3000 traffic laws you can be pulled over for. I could normally find one without problem. There was one time I couldn't so they didn't get stopped.
I was a graveyard guy. Loved it. Wanted to be out when the crooks were out capering.

They should fear the justice system If they did the crime, not the police... unless you have become judge dread. But, no you shouldn't ever abuse someone's right because they "deserved" it.
Now you have a right to protect yourself if they attack you, but once you have subdued that individual, you stop. Not get a few extra hits in.
You're nuts if you don't have a camera. By the way Uber, Lyft etc aren't crime free and we were often seeking drivers for any number of crimes. I only stopped people if I had PC to do so. It's easy to find and I don't lie about any of it. Ever. No need to.
You act like was never stopped. I was. Quite a bit as a teenager. Never said they didn't have PC. Even after becoming a cop. But cops don't write cops. Only perk one has. Doubt they have it anymore. These young people are screwed up in the head. Not all of 'em but most of 'em.
Cool, but you still said you protect your own allowing police to be above the law...
That isn't right. Or is just for traffic tickets? Where is your line? Either way police should be following the law and not counting on their get out of jail free ticket.

Policework isn't really police work anymore. I probably wouldn't do the job now.
A lot of my family are retired cops and I think every single one of them has the same opinion.

Why because you have to have a camera and not abuse people's rights?

Sure, there are 3000 rules … that way you can screw with people to find what you want... that's the crap I am against.
If you see them doing a crime, fine... but don't just fuck with someone to see what they are up to.
Disagree again. Part of the job. But I never made up PC for a stop. Never.
Maybe you are one of the good cops... Sadly they aren't all that way.
And yes I've thought of getting a camera in my vehicle to protect me from the police... but I shouldn't have to.
Sure you would, because you weren't harrassed via those rules and it made your job easier.

You just said it all, cops don't write cops... you aren't above the law...
Citaions and misdemeanors are officer discretion. I let lots of people go.

I've had to arrest a cop before. Don't tell me what I do.
When did I tell you what to Do? Just follow the constitution is all i ask.
