The Dutchess
I was in Seattle last week for a few days to help a friend whose husband had died to clear out old paper records, reorganize their storage, clear out junk, basic hero work that no one wants to do… it was just down the street from the Dutchess so i went in at 3 when they first opened to have late lunch… havent been there in years so it was a blast from the past for me.
Like a lot of people, i went there as a kid at UW along with Earls and the other fabulous dives, and later used to like to go and meet old buds at the Dutchess after the Husky football afternoon games.
The place is a lot nicer now, the burger is still a good one, and they now have their own "Dutchess" lager [tastes like Rainer] so there you go… I'm including picks for those that are curious and haven't been there for years. Cheers to an old time place that is still OPEN…. pics to come, vanilla didn't like my versions…

I've drunk more beer (Husky beer usually) at the Dutchess than probably any other pub in Seattle. Used to live up the street for a while.
I miss the days when it was REAL "tavern" full of cigarette smoke.
My first IRL meet ups with much of the crew here occurred there with @DerekJohnson @PurpleBaze @pawz @Tequilla @huskyhooligan etc.

How many tims did you get laid by the recently widowed fren?
-
Exactly the first thing that came to mind

I took my wife there for a 4th date to watch UW in the tournament.
I'm classy AF like that.
Cheap dates or GTFO!

If you young pup's like @haie want to see how much en vouge beer has changed in Seattle since the 90's, look at the taps.
2 for Georgetown Brewing and no Red Hook ESB. Sad!
-
Red Hook is twash as fuck
-
It didn't used to be, pal. Mid 90's Red Hook was damn good beer.
-
I didn’t have it until 2007ish. Some of the worst headaches ever from Red Hook

That roster of taps is pretty much every bar in the PNW nowadays except if you're on the Oregon side there will be at least Boneyard IPA and a Bubblestash.

Christ. Stay in your lane, pal!
And we don't just beers by the hangover.
Coors Banquet is the cleanest, least hangover producing 5% beer there is, but I'm not gonna say it's the best beer in the world (although it is for certain applications).
