I have been watching this for the past couple of years. It is truly fascinating.
Check up on the comments from the rat leadership in that area. They have abused the system for so long, ignored the violence and crime, spent money where it would guarantee re-election, and showed incredible disdain for the people who are paying the taxes. Now they are crying poor mouth, openly calling these people racist and taking zero responsibility for the disastrous policies they have supported.
I live on an island. The town on the other side of the bridge has high crime and this island pays for the majority of their taxes. The minority government who represent the town spew the same old shit over and over and nothing ever changes. Another black mayor was just elected and he is, again, puking up the same bullshit. If given the right leadership, that town which is surrounded by water, could be a golden opportunity for all. The elected officials will never let that happen.
One thing they do understand though, is if the locals come across the bridge and start with the crime and violence we see in the town, we might just do the same thing this new town in Baton Rouge did and they don't want that to happen. They know without this tax base, there will be no more town. So the slimy politicians who seem to want to continue the power and keep the violence and corruption at their current levels in the town, they know exactly how to manage and protect us on the tax paying side of things. They know right from wrong, they are just not willing to do it.
Neighborhoods around Atlanta are tired of having tax dollars laundered thought the southwest part of the city and have started breaking away into their own cities. Sandy Springs and Brookhaven were two of the first to go. Buckhead is making threats as well. Hopefully the tax money involved diminishes to the point Atlanta politicians will need to find another grift.

Rather than asking how we got here politicians just call it racist
It's almost like you have the Atlanta paper delivered to your home!
… as @MelloDawg downvotes it for some reason.
