How is it that when @RaceBannon was a little fella there were duck and cover drills for the Ruskie Nukes and the culture could still produce Happy Days, but now everything is all dystopian future porn? I had to stop watching the Walking Dead like 4 or 5 seasons in because I was sitting there, like what's the fucking point?
Happy Days is more of a catchall for the era. Andy Griffith was taking young Ritchie Cunningham fishing at the Mayberry Pond during the Cuban Missile Crisis.
Fallout has been around since 1997, and its origins date back another 10 years further. That it's only now on TV is less about today's thirst for dystopia porn and more about how creatively bankrupt Hollywood is. One of the most popular video game franchises of all time is pretty low hanging fruit.
I've played a couple of the games and I was very pleasantly surprised, as I was expecting them to fuck it up like The Witcher and Halo. I guess they still have plenty of time to screw it up in later seasons and Bethesda hasn't put out a decent game in over a decade, but for now I am entertained and optimistic that the producers know what they're doing.
Starfield was the most disappointing game I've ever played. I don't get a lot of time these days to sit around and play, so it pisses me off that I wasted that much of my precious free time on that load of shit.
I wish I could edit quotes to highlight the creativity bankrupt comment. I also wish there was a way to quote without having to carry forward all the previous quotes which prevent me from quoting what @1to392831weretaken said.
I drove by a theater a couple weeks ago and could see 3 movie posters and none of them were for original content.
Quite honestly what else did you expect from Bethesda these days? I hate to blame the victim here but it’s on you for believing they could deliver a product Day 1.

I’m bored of future dystopian shows.
Can we get like a Happy Days remake on Prime ?
With Jake Gyllenhaal starring as Richie Cunningham
Fallout isn’t as dark as some of the end times shows. Downright cheery.
I think I just realized to pitch Happy Days as a dark murder mystery like Riverdale.

Happy Days was high school but I get your point
The 60s had some cheesy Sci fi and lots of killing of Nazis
Good times

I've never been interested in Fallot as an IP.
Starting Alan Wake 2 for PS5 this afternoon.

Not sure how they are going to work nudity into nuclear fallout zone but fingers crossed
She was also in Yellowjackets as a mean girl.
Fuck no. Alan Wake 2 so far has been incredible. Not just as a game but the amount of live action stuff in it.
Basically a true modern day horror version of Twin Peaks.
Watched some trailers. Pass.
I’ll stick with Boyd Crowder and justified re-runs.
I wanna see ghoul titties.
