"It will be an expensive hire for Nebraska, as Dannen's contract with UW, reviewed by KING 5, charges him with repaying a $275,000 relocation bonus in addition to a $1.5 million buyout."
I mean, it’s going to be tough to retain anyone in the AD seat on the half-share, plus all the shit they need to fix in the current budget (almost certainly including substantial layoffs/other “hard decisions”), plus all the ties that need to be rebuilt to a donor/alum base which has been systematically abandoned and disengaged. I’m sure Dannen was surprised how hard it was to get anyone to give money to the program even during a national championship run for football (and how many historical grievances, valid or otherwise, donors/alums rolled out as to why they weren’t/wouldn’t)
This is not a job at this point for a good ol’ boy backslapping AD - it’s for a finance-focused person who systematically and dispassionately (ruthlessly) right sizes the organization and budget. Just getting the current revenue streams and cost savings flowing into the right places would rapidly solve some of the current inherent problems. Then when the full share kicks in, you can go back to the vapid do nothing type we’ve had over the last couple if you want, I guess.

Just go get fucking Petersen. He's already been in their ear on every football hire no matter who the AD is anyways.

Stackin dat buyout ca$h fam boss
#TeamMercenary lmao
Petersen doesn't want it and doesn't want to do the work.
He is a less gay Chip Kelly that stepped down when the fire burned out rather than mail it in and collect paychecks for 2-3 extra years.
Hearing Jen misses Seattle and will come back home for a small raise.
Her first step will be to fix the basketball program by promoting Will Conroy
You're only here to fuck
Come on down George Kliavkoff!
Washington: Gateway to Nebraska
You know damn right Derek!!!
HEY AMC!
Just want you know that I, and my leopard print jacket, are tanned, rested, and ready.
He's definitely going to be looking elsewhere after this season.
Nebraska is a rival? A bit hyperbolic to say that.
Christ.
Net positive for you guys if everything I heard last November/December is accurate.
You’ll get your guy, or girl, or alphabet candidate….
Everyone thought he was a short-timer when he got hired. His boss just left him. New boss will want their own guy. Cook it
You didn't hear anything.
We gotta get Venoy and show the B1G our pimp hand!
That shit is beyond overrated.
The head coach is the most important figure in the AD by miles.
DeBoer didn't give a fuck that Jen left and he had Dannen bending the knee day 1, minute 1.
