That’s a hard sell even then when you’re 1:10 on messaging that it’s “someone else’s fault”.
As a country we’ve failed miserably for 150 years in bringing the black community into what should be a shared vision of the American dream, and there’s plenty of shared blame to go around, but messaging out nothing but victimhood and oppression does absolutely nothing to empower people. If anything it has the opposite effect.
Let’s start with school choice. That’s really the first step. We fund the shit out of public education but still fail. Why is that? Because the money doesn’t flow to the students in the form of teacher salary and materials. How about we rip the guts out of the PE administrative/union state and redirect that to salary/materials/nutrition?
And I’ll get killed for this but there’s no reason school breakfast and lunch shouldn’t be free at the primary grade levels. Make schools comfortable and a place kids look forward to going to. If they can’t eat at home but they can at school it alleviates a huge burden in the form of food uncertainty.
I’m on a tangent here but I view addressing the primary school experience as the most effective means by which we can offer equality of opportunity, and you do that by making sure money flows away from unions and administrators toward the kids themselves.
There’s no reason a lot of things - including breakfast and lunch at schools - shouldnt be free.
Funding the MIC and trying to social engineer the country is a waste of fucking resources. We should have streets paved of gold, infrastructure that is world class and any other number of things that supposedly the richest country in the world could pay for.
Instead we pay for Ukraine pensions and wars that never end. And steal the social security of the taxpayers to fund it.

Honestly, the money for free school lunch is probably better spent there where quality of diet can be controlled versus giving poor people EBT cards to buy Doritos and Mountain Dew for their kids. The money already exists but is presently being misallocated.
This is colonizer rationalizing. They should take all your money since it was gotten through white supremacy and give 1% of it to the kids. The rest is for administration.
