My guess is that UW will hold their nose and pay him to go away. I'm not an ortho surgeon but it sounds like he had knee surgery in late 2020 or early 2021 after his senior year and then re-injured it over 1 year later? But UW also probably doesn't want the litigation-risk and cost so maybe they offer $50k to $100k while admitting no responsibility or further liability.
Well you can tell I am not attorney! However, since he already already tore his knee up in high school, he his case probably isn't quite as good. Also, if UW can slow play the case, Oklahoma may put him on scholarship for the 2024 (which would further undermine his case for financial damages).
If he was still here, we’d all be praising his tuffness. But since he’s not, I say the university has an easy out if it went to court. They’ll settle, though.

it will cost UW a helluva lot more than $50K or $100K to make this go away

Don't settle until Deboer gets deposed.
maybe because he was willing to do anything possible to win the game. Are you new?
this. In most cases, football players like to play football.
Christ. My wife blew out her ACL in her senior season of hoops and I ain't seen jack shit in terms of compensation from the University.
What's the statute of limitations on this sort of thing @creepycoug ?
Enough said on that.

someone needs to tell DeBoer to lay off the Ozempic.
he might be limping for ten years. I'm not new, and soft tissue injuries usually hang around for a long time
June 2021 injury before his senior year of high school. He reclassified from ‘22 to ‘21 to rehab at UW.
Re-injured January ‘22 even though Dr’s note from that same month said he was 2-3 months out but should be ready to participate in spring ball.
