I woke up around 2am and ended up watching it. When I was done, my initial thought was the original was perfect. 3 & 4 seemed to get way too out there with this John Wick universe. I don’t remember enough of 2 to comment.
I don’t even recognize you two anymore… you should’ve watched this the day dedouche left. It was just the right amount of killing and way too long fight scenes that day.
I just bought Pacific Drive for the PS5 last night as it looked intriguing with a premise that the government was doing experiments in the Olympic Peninsula, saw that they fucked up badly and then walled it off leaving the remaining scientists to die. Kind of a Twin Peaks vibe and it was getting a lot of hype.
Really tedious game though that feels like working for a large portion of it.
Watched the original John Wick on my flight yesterday and it’s so much better than JW4. Some of the underworld universe is there but not as much as in the sequels.
The original was just a straight up revenge flick.
As I said, I was traveling this weekend and spent about 10 hours on planes. (I won’t get into my anger over having to purchase 2 tickets because I’m a person of size because my legal team has advised me to say nothing until I get a hearing.)
With 10 hours, I watched a shit ton of Netflix.
John Wick
About the first 45 minutes of Stand By Me and decided to stop. It was still a decent flick, I wasn’t in the mood.
A Chinese movie called Kingdom which I’ll pick up again on the return flights. It wasn’t good enough for me to finish in 1 sitting.
I started on Unbroken but had to stop because my flight landed. I’m about halfway through and this is movie that sticks very close to the book.
I spent 4-5 hours finishing the HBO series The Pacific. I’ve seen it once about 8 years ago and thought it was ok the first time around. Since then, I’ve read With the Old Breed by EB Sledge, one of the books the series is based on and read a lot of WWII Pacific accounts so that things were in much better context for me.
If you’ve not seen this or know about it, it’s the Marine Corps version of Band of Brothers. Really good job of weaving together multiple characters from at least 2 different books.
I confuse the shit out of Legends of the Fall vs. A River Runs Through It. I think both have Tom Skerrit in them? Montana town. A river. One is about fly fishing, the other running some rapids but also a love story mixed in.
A 1986 horror flick with Jeffery “Reanimator” Combs and Barbara Crampton also from Reanimator. Lost of practical effects and ooze and guts. I want to say it was an HP Lovecraft film. I enjoyed it as I love cheesy horror movies from the 80’s. Plus Barbara Crampton shows her boobs.
It's like three hours of him posing, being brave and noble, and looking pretty set to dramatic music and sweeping scenery. Soft porn for women basically.
When Netflix still mailed DVDs, I ordered up River Runs Through It thinking it was Legends of the Fall. Turned it off after about 10 minutes confused and pissed off.

I immediately downloaded the original to watch on my flights this weekend to compare and to make sure I’m remembering things correctly.
I felt that way on JW2 and JW3 which I never made it all the way thru
PS I loved Buckaroo Bonzai across the 8th dimension. Lizardo was great, one of the better B movies.
Through 4 of Tokyo Vice and still watching
The Backstreet Boy Yakuza kid is interesting. Most of the Yakuza are.
Also started Halo. Not a gamer but it's interesting now but the plot is headed for trouble. Origin of life stuff ends badly

Race streaming on twitch is just what this offseason needs.
Subscribed.
I got apps bro
If you like Tokyo Vice you'll like Warrior. " Based on" writings of Bruce Lee

I’m in the process of upgrading my 970 to a 4080 super so I can not play my Steam backlog with even better hardware.

I forgot one movie. Legends of the Fall. I realize I’ve never seen it from the very beginning and never saw the first 15-20 minutes.
Idaho Murders ~50 documentary on Max was okay.
Stabbed 4 people to death in < 16 minutes, 2 of which appeared to still be awake, then left the knife sheath in one of the rooms with his dna on it.
Oppenheimer. Decent flick. Made me want read more about him and what went on and such.
Midway through Season 5 of “The X Files”
Mixing in some Curb. One of these days I want to rewatch every Curb episode and make a tally when Larry was in the right and in the wrong.
This movie is probably in my top-5 list.
