Mark Mangino was his name. He is by far the single fattest person I have ever seen. He is on a whollllle different level of fatness than even Charlie Weis, Ralph Friedgen and Chris Christie. You seriously got the impression that Mangino could literally crush another person to death by sitting on top of them. There's an infamous picture of Mangino next to the Orange Bowl mascot where he and the mascot look exactly the same.Fire_Marshall_Bill said:
It's a minor miracle that fat guy got them to the Orange Bowl about 15 years ago.haie said:Kansas was terrible forever and will always be a bottom feeder destination for football in their conference. Getting worse with the 4 corners coming.
Being in the shadow of your little brother in Manhattan Kansas is just a nightmare that's barely even believable. Not to mention your boosters only give a shit about the basketball team.
Anyway, I don't remember what Kansas football was like before Mangino took over, but I can't imagine it was as bad as it was when Leiopold was hired. Kansas seriously went either 1-11 or 0-12 almost every year in the 2010s.
Well, I see you're plagiarizing the comment that a user named waterrrrrrrbug made on Reddit on August 9, 2012.

Waterrrrrrrbug claimed he had heard this from somebody with "deep ties in the KU athletic department."
In all likelihood this story is probablllllly BS, but you can't completely rule out the possibility that it's true. -
You lying fuck, Fudgie.

Nothing if he doesn’t have NIL support - which he won’t here. If anything, it would make it harder for him.coach_pete_JPG said:

No the story has been around a lot longer than that. I remember reading it on Twoplustwo forums before Reddit was even a thing.Sandra6 said:FremontTroll said:

Was hoping for Fisch.

He did this last cycle with DeBoer, he sprints through the stages of grief. Give him 36 hours and he’ll come to acceptanceGrundleStiltzkin said:

Word on the streets is he recruits people of color well. Someone’s else’s words, not mine. Don’t twist, the souwf hasn’t made me a racist.PatsDoog said:This is Leipold, no? He would be a great hire, but like DeBoer, I would worry about recruiting.

Carroll or riot

Can we just hire a fucking coach already so we can stop the bleeding in the transfer portal?
The longer we wait, the more players will put their name in the portal because they'll be scared that we'll have to hire a Division III coach or something. -

Seems like it’s either Fisch or Leipold (aside from the obvious Carroll, Saban, and Urban). -
Not sure Leipold stops the bleeding. Unless there are some gems from Kansas coming over.Sandra6 said:Can we just hire a fucking coach already so we can stop the bleeding in the transfer portal?

I have to believe this means that a lot of the UW offense is gone, Germie, Boston, etc. -

Recruiting isn't for fags. But it's hard to be that impressed with Fisch's recruiting considered that Arizona was 43rd in talent composite in 2023.
Kansas was 62nd in talent composite, but that's not particularly hard to understand with how bad Kansas was before Leipold. -
It absolutely doesn’t.Kingdome_Urinals said:

The only decent options are Fisch or Carroll or Petersen. And Fisch will bounce, Petersen doubtfully has the juice.
Which is why Carroll is the best choice here. -
If Fisch wasnt an immediate risk to jump to Michigan or Florida Dannen should back up multiple brinks trucks into his driveway. He's far and away the best coach on the list of realistic candidatesGayThoughts said:Gimme Leipold over Fisch, recruiting is and always will be for fags

Fisch is signing a contract extension that the Board of Trustees has to ratify.
It seems like it's actually either Leipold or some coach we'll be plucking out of the toilet. -

I don’t either but the man must be a helluva salesman to get kids to buy in at Kansas (not to mention his previous track record.)
If Carroll wasn’t realistic then Leipold looks like the clear next best option to me. -
I wouldnt discount the possibility of the ABOR tearing that extension up. The extension probably doesn't play into why UW does or doesn't offer himSandra6 said:DawgtillDeath said:

Who gives a fuck what Greg Biggins and Brandon Huffman think about the talent on their rosters? Do they win games or notSandra6 said:GayThoughts said:Gimme Leipold over Fisch, recruiting is and always will be for fags

Just my gut. UW skill players were likely juiced to be in the Grubb/DeBoer offense. Now there is something different coming in.FremontTroll said:

Going from Natty game to....Leipold is a big come down IMO.
Fisch would have brought some studs over to mix with the UW kids, Leipold is not bringing over a great passing QB like Fifita or Trattoria McMillan at WR.
Jaylon Daniels is an athlete QB. -
Next year going to be ruff.

Leipold is an offensive guy and his offenses at Kansas were very good. 7.0 ypp this season same as UW.Kingdome_Urinals said:
