Most Unfortunate Injuries

It might be my least favorite injury since I've been following the program. Trying to think of some of the others?
Azeem in 2016
Joe Mathis 2016
Stanback in 2006
Jerramy Stevens in 2001
Curtis Williams in 2000
Anthony Vontoure's mental injuries
Rapp in the Rose Bowl 2018
Gaskin missing even just late against Oregon in 2018 and Cal - Get's lost they probably go undefeated in Pac if he doesn't

I'll go with #25

The most annoying thing about McMillan's injury is how unnecessary the play was
A fake kneel bomb while up by 4 scores with under 30 seconds left?
Wtf was that? -
Rapp? No
Azeem and Mathis were big
Stanback is my answer
I agree we are missing out this year even as we keep winning -
Joe Steele vs UCLA in the LA Coliseum
Aaron Jenkins knee injury - was a highly-touted RB nobody remembers
Mark Brunell in spring ball
Lester Towns foot injury
Paul Arnold back injury
-
Race can tell us about Bill Douglas going down in the '64 Rose Bowl
-
I can also remind you that Brunell won the natty by getting hurtDerekJohnson said:Race can tell us about Bill Douglas going down in the '64 Rose Bowl
Harsh but true
I do remember Douglass getting hurt. That cost us -
Locker shattering his hand trying to run block against Stanford wasn't too good but I guess it depends on your perspective. I'm pretty sure UW fails to accomplish 0-12 with a healthy Locker
-
Oh snap! How can we forget George Wilson in the '26 Rose Bowl. When Wilson was in the game, UW outscored Alabama 19-0. Bama scored all 20 of its points when Wilson was nursing an injury on the sideline. Nursing in the injured sense, not in the Caleb Williams sense.

I remember Aaron Jenkins. He played alongside Vince Weathersby.DerekJohnson said:Joe Steele vs UCLA in the LA Coliseum

I really liked Brunell, but his injury paved the way for Hobert to lead the 1991 team. I don't think that team would have gone 12-0 without Hobert at the helm. Billy Joe had the it factor.
An untimely injury, IMHO, was Greg Lewis in the 1990 against UCLA. I don't think the Dwags lose to the Bruins at home with Lewis in the backfield for the whole game. That was one of the most frustrating games I've ever seen in person. A freshman Tommy Maddox completing short slant routes over and over and the D had not answer for it. -
Rapp was a joke. Though I think he could have made a big difference in that Rose Bowl.RaceBannon said:Rapp? No

Locker was terrible but what did that do in teh end? Just make sure they lost the Apple Cup?
I know you want to keep playing against Michigan State at that point but holy shit it hurts losing someone like that when the game was realistically over. -
Had Locker not gotten hurt, they probably win 3-4 games. It would have made Sark's legendary 5-7 turnaround off of 0-12 not so legendary.WoolleyDoog said:

Business decision for him, nothing more. -
It is a position they are able to absorb a big injury at. 2 guys just at good as him and depth behind.
Tuli's injury has been the bigger loss for this team by a margin -
That's a great Wilson picture in Alaska Airlines stadium, up near Hec Ed directionDerekJohnson said:Oh snap! How can we forget George Wilson in the '26 Rose Bowl. I think Wilson died of alcoholism though, on a dock, a forgotten man
-
It's amazing they've been able to absorb it, I just can't help but imagine what it would be like if they didn't have to. Agree on Tuli but it sounds like it's a thing with him where it might actually just be a long lingering injury he will always have and they're trying to best utilize him. I'd also trade watching McMillan Polk and Odunze flying over a better run defense.Canadawg said:It is a position they are able to absorb a big injury at. 2 guys just at good as him and depth behind.

Definitely second Stalin's Paul Arnold nomination. A couple not mentioned:
Cody Pickett's back in 2003. He was a shell of the guy he was in 2002.
Rashaan Shehee in 1997, if I remember right he was injured down the stretch and we really struggled without him.
Travis Spring. RIP.
People will hate it but Asa Turner last year. We win either of those two games and the whole narrative for last year and this is different.
Puka's injuries were costly, especially if there's a chance he would have stayed here had he not gotten hurt.
HOW WAS NO ONE SAID DEONTAE COOPER? NOT A WET EYE IN THE FUCKING THREAD.
The real answer is Laiatu Latu. Wiff a bullet. -
To me it’s Laiatu Latu. He is the difference between Washington’s D being too 10 and the shit storm we see now -
Stanback and Rahsaan shehee 97. Shehee was a killer.
-
Jake "Dead Arm" Browning?
Cost us playoffs in 2017 and 2018 -
If I had to guess, Tuli had a Grade 2 ankle sprain and he tweaked it during the Oregon game. He was then on a limited snap count against USC due to conditioning so they saved him to the 2nd half so he was fresh. So I'd guess, he'll probably play 30-40 snaps vs. Utah before being a full go against the Beavs.WoolleyDoog said:

Rapp went from the HH darling to persona non grata

That's what happens when you fake an injury to sit out the Rose Bowl so that you don't hurt your draft stock.FireCohen said:Rapp went from the HH darling to persona non grata
