Losing takes off the pressure

Looks like they are sleep-walking, expecting to dominate but not putting in the effort or focus to do that. Then making multitudes of shoot-yourself-in-the-foot turnovers and finding every way to NOT control the game.
They've won 15 games in a row and after Oregon are bored as fuck. They have an identity crisis, bored but also under pressure.
They also have a few glaring structural issues. The OL is not that great. The DL is not very good and the edges can't sack the QB or tackle.
Bottom line, this team is entirely dependent on Penix completing 70% of his passes, hitting a variety of long-distance NFL throws, and being very accurate.
They can't run against or defend a decent team unless Penix and the WR's are cooking. Period.

Too much pressure. That’s one thing deboner hasn’t done before is guide young men through real big boy football pressure.
Don’t believe the hype.
Edit: I was just blowing leaves, he’s hung like an elephant, and had an epiphany about this team. You summed it up very well. 70% or fucked. -
This makes sense. UW is playing as if they have a margin of error, and Oregon is playing like every week is a playoff game. If UW is going to lose, they need to lose soon, because this sleepwalking shit can be systemic if it goes on too long.

well said, Urinals.
nearly everything you mentioned should be something that coaches can correct or at least minimize (bored, pressure, one dimensional offense, etc.). We are about to find out if both this team and this coaching staff is merely above average or truly great, IMO. -
The other problem UW has, is that they are so damn one dimensional. They are so good at that, that you can’t stop it, but you sure can at least limit it. And with the holes they have on defense, if you just limit the damage, you can beat them.gmo said:well said, Urinals.

The loss of McMillen has been huge.

Urinals, you worthless cunt!

I think for a good team losing allows them to regroup, gets everybody on the same page. Whereas winning leads to complacency. Oregon is playing well because they are playing loose.greenblood said:This makes sense. UW is playing as if they have a margin of error, and Oregon is playing like every week is a playoff game. Nix doesn't have to think a heisman campaign, the team doesn't have to worry about whether or not they look dominant.
It's easier to be dominant when you don't have to be. -
I think with Penix playing well and Odunze, McMillan, Polk, and Bernard, UW is nearly impossible to contain.LawDawg1 said:The loss of McMillen has been huge.
Then you have Westy, Culp, Dillon, etc. going completely uncovered.
Losing Bernard and McMillan was big for UW, glad Germie is back but they need McMillan to be elite again. -
Oregon had lots of eyes see them boat race the WAC portion of the conference Utah and Colorado
Let them get the praise. I'll take the W
The world will be watching the last Pac 12 battle between Washington and USC. The cream of the crop will be on display -
It’s especially hard when you’re a team which isn’t a 12-0 level team. Teams like 91 UW, 2019 LSU or Georgia last year it’s different. Feels like a team that’s just waiting to walk into a rude awakening and it all depends on how they respond.Kingdome_Urinals said:

Maybe they’ve been humbled and want to regroup but they’re sick and unable to fully do so.
DeBoer was saying the crud/injuries were fucking with their personnel groupings on Tuesday and Wednesday so their preparation and rhythm was behind.
If that’s over, perhaps so are the bizarro dawgs🤔 -
Yes, this team doesn't have the trench power, depth, or talent at RB to be one of those teams.WoolleyDoog said:

It all depends on Penix and the passing game. But I think he's the best pure passer in the game so there is still a high ceiling. -
Good clear-headed post the day after. All that makes sense.
On another topic, we learned very quickly not to wear shorts to a Mariners games back in the Kingdome days. -
Penix isn’t right. He’s probably dealing with something minor and will get right. That’s the problem with an offense that requires rhythm.Kingdome_Urinals said:Which is part of why UW looks like crap right now. Oregon was underrated and playing with a chip on their shoulder. Now they're the most complete team in the country and my @Sources are telling me that the fart huffing has commenced.RaceBannon said:Oregon had lots of eyes see them boat race the WAC portion of the conference Utah and Colorado

Meanwhile we are widely seen as the all-hype team that has played like shit for two weeks. Barely escaped the dreck of the conference.
This is the narrative best case scenario. -
They're really not. I'd give my left nut to walk into Ecclesiastes and give them a 35-6 pantsing.haie said:

This year's sqwad isn't even a south division winning type of team. No stars. Slow footed defense. Shit offense. -

100%. b/c our tackling, ability to stop run, create turnovers is so poor, teams are 3rd and short all game which allows them to convert at a higher rate and burn clock keeping Penix and Company off field.greenblood said:

By doing that, it forces Penix and the wr's to feel extra pressure to score even more than normal as their possessions are being limited. Add in limited consistent run game, and D that is average AT best against run and pass (and that is being generous imo) and if this offense can't get to 40 and/or get up by two scores it will be game on against teams in the Pac
It's looked like this since Q2 Arizona.

Oregon exposed Utah because SC is incompetent. That said, UW is looking like shit regardless of Oregon. They need to get their shit together. Just like entry in the Big 10, we need each other to get a team in the CFP.haie said:

I don’t give a fuck about the pressure. We will play better. Oregon exceeded my expectation but I honestly thought this was a 31-17 game beforehand.
The Pig Farmer has a noodle arm, he has skill players that don’t stretch a defense, and their defense played a bunch of one-dimensional offenses that weren’t even elite at one thing save USC. I didn’t expect to whoop their asses in the trenches so badly.
