What people forget about 2023

Sure, we've had better overall teams in years past, but 2023 presents the greatest marketing opportunity ever for UW.

1) Boys in the Boat hits movie theaters on December 25th and Clooney gets wins Best Director Oscar

2) Our first ever legit Heisman Trophy candidate

3) Serious CFP contender

It all starts on Saturday. Beat OU - Nothing Else Matters!

Napoleon Kaufman wasn't a legit candidate?

No one can deny the cultural contributions of @SECDAWG to the Hardcore Husky lexicon.

Baze and I have equally taken to hmmrhead with gusto

    Did he go to NY?

In 1994, he was a second-team All-American, finished ninth in Heisman Trophy voting (receiving three first-place ballots), and is a member of the University of Washington Hall of Fame. As of 2022, Kaufman still held UW's career all-purpose yardage record, amassing 5,832 total yards.

I don’t think he had nearly the national attention that Penix gets. A lot of reasons for that (more than five). The PAC-10 knew him well but outside of the conference I think he was just another great runner.

Ended up second team All-American and ninth in Heisman voting.

Emptermann was a more legit candidate than Kaufman.

Returning for his senior year to a Lambo team that was on probation and stumbled to 7-4 while birthing Oregon. For his loyalty alone he deserves a fucking statue next to Don James

He rushed for 1,440 yards that year and had his team been USC or Notre Dame he would have won it going away. To say he wasn't legit is fucking heresy you hammrhead. Puh!
Come on, pal. I didn't say he wasn't legit. East Coast Bias said he wasn't legit.

I've met them IRL when they were in their early 80s you bonio. And there's a direct lineage from those boys to all the crews that came in their wake.
Seems like you THINK and CARE.

    A lot.

    A lot.

Let's just hope and pray it doesn't suck. Could be wonderful branding for UW if it's decent.

    1. Very excited for the movie. What do you think of Edgerton cast as Ulbrickson? I’m a big Joel Edgerton guy. Doesn’t take bad gigs

    2. I’m trying to warn everyone here—no one out west has a shot if Michigan goes 13-0. The maize and blue national media will make sure it goes to their boy JJ, even though he’s a JAG in a run-heavy offense

I continue to hold out hope that due to #1 we see not some random Seattle mini-celeb as the Gameday guest picker, but George fucking Clooney.

I doubt it since it's not a Disney movie, but still.

My sweat pants would not be able to hold in that boner @whlinder

It would be the great guest picker of all Tim!
