Here to get this off my chest

Oregon and UW badly —they were trying to kill off any other competitive programs out west.
I’m gonna get drunk tonight because this was really stressing me out. I didn’t have faith in mullens or Cohen. But they got it done. I love all of you.

Yeah they thought they were about to monopolize California recruiting, now all they've done is keep the same threats and let in a lot of new rivals. Don't get me wrong, the money is real, but their dream to own the west isn't coming to fruition.ntxduck said:Thank you UW. Seriously. Being stuck in the pac would have been the end of both programs. It’s why sc left and wanted to block

The B1G should have taken Stanford and/or Cal over Oregon.

Both UW and ORE have 2023 vendetta games against USC, this is going to be an interesting year, barring injuries, I'm guessing both teams kick USC's ass this year and drag them all over the field. UW will do it in their house.

Don’t be a dick.Oregon draws ratings and are seen as innovative. Was that with Phil’s money? Sure, but they still had to do shit with it. The Bay Area didn’t watch Stanford even when they had Andrew luck. It’s not a college sports region.pawz said:The B1G should have taken Stanford and/or Cal over Oregon.

Eh. This is basically World War II with the US and USSR both needed each other to achieve the right result. There isn't even a honeymoon period. I'm sure Lanning is telling recruits UW is racist or some shit at this very second.

Naw, he’s telling them that SC can no longer use the B1G as leverage. They just lost their best negative recruiting tool.WoolleyDoog said:Eh. It’s goofy to believe Cal and Stanford matter because they are in the Bay Area and it’s an important market. This isn’t professional sports. The highest rated teams on television are not from huge markets. Cal and Stanford don’t give a fuck about football and have never gotten large attendances or high tv ratings.greenblood said:

Hence their AD up there at P12MD the last two years.
But despite the ridicule of the UW AD during Covid (warranted), it was shown that Cal and Stanford were really an anchor on these other schools. Stanford and Cal were effectively banished from their own counties in 2020.
Finally, the LA schools decided that kissing the ring of some elite academic schools that only wins at sailboat is a bad idea.
Oregon and Washington plotted for a year and acted the same way. -
not since uw/uo bullied byu fans on former bird app has this been such a true partnership. -

You and Oregon will be the first tangible victims of the culture war.
Your fantasy of “they wouldn’t have invited us unless they wanted us” will be shattered by 2026. You’re both fillers for the real realignment.
When you go to most schools, most students will wonder why Washington is in the league now. And the History major will say well, they won a Rose Bowl against Purdue 25 years ago.
And belly laughs will ensue. -

So, Oregon and Oregon will be the first tangible victims of the culture war. According to whom? Brian Kelly and Brain Kelly?Kaepsknee said:

The perception of your beliefs matters now in todays world, even in College Football. When a new worker on your team comes in on Monday Morning, you are watching their every move to see if you are going to trust them to truly be a part of the team.
When 4 new schools from the West Coast come into a Mid West dominated conference, there will be some of the same scrutiny. Just on a much higher level.
None of this stuff is in the paper of course, it’s on the wall. And perception is reality.
If you come out and go 6-1 in 2024, then there won’t be shit talk. But if you hit 3-3, look the fuck out. -

Stanford will always have the memory of practicing in the Bel Square parking garage and kicking UW's ass in the Covid season
So they have that going for them which is nice -
