Allegedly.

Fine. Boner made Grubb and Grubb made Huff. Find a recruiter if Huff leaves.

I'm tired. Had to remove what I wrote. I really need to STEP AWAY FROM THE KEYBOARD.PurpleBaze said:delete

Wilcox is really on borrowed time if he's throwing out offers to unproven line coaches.
Even if Huff pulls in recruits, he won't be around long enough to reap the benefits. Wilcox might want to see if Sark is around after the Alamo Bowl.
I've been a critic of Huffs for awhile, but he's earned another year here. I wouldn't be freaking out if he left either. -
Cal gonna Cal
-
Career suicide for Huff? I guess you take the $500k / yr raise for the two years you get and then latch on at another FBS program as an OL coach afterwards.
-
It depends on if he wants to be an HC sooner rather than later. If not, he could remain OL and then potentially move up to OC if / when Grubb leaves. If he is in a hurry, he probably would take the OC job and hope he gets a few years as one before getting his first swing at HC for a lower tier Pac-12 school or the Mountain West.BleachedAnusDawg said:Career suicide for Huff? Cal has no talent on offense. Bad OL, Sturdivant and Ott as your tools? What are you going to run there?Doogles said:Wilcox is really on borrowed time if he's throwing out offers to unproven line coaches.

I think he should take it

Mario Cristobal should be available for OL again by the end of this season. Good recruiter I hear.RaceBannon said:I think he should take it

Meh. Bad move for Wilcox. It doesn't hurt UW imo and probably doesn't hurt his career. He can fail as IC in a bad situation and still fall back on his 2022 unit to promote himself for future OL jobs.
-
There is no chance Wilcox is hiring Scott fucking Huff. LOL.
If Cal ever gets a good OC they will be a solid skwad
Beau Baldwin was actually a great hire on paper at the time. I'm surprised that one didn't work out, quite honestly.
EWU had a great run but their coaches never panned out at the next level. -
Too lazy to look it up, did Wilcox and Huff ever coach together at Boise?
-
Don't see it. Huff is no Donavan.
-
Isn't it kind of a known thing in the football world that OL coaches make bad coordinators? Hence, I feel like you rarely ever see them.

He coached basically every other offensive position too. Butt still. -
Gilby was an O line coach in 90 and OC in 91
And 2000 he was O line coach
He was excellent as long as he wasn't head coach -
Yup, both there 2006-2009.dnc said:Too lazy to look it up, did Wilcox and Huff ever coach together at Boise?

I didn't consider that Huff might have been encouraged to lookwhatshouldicareabout said:

Grubb got a raise. Interesting to see what else happens -
He was the only one from Lake's staff, so he may not be as good of a fit as DeBoer thought.RaceBannon said:

Others might be struggling at the P5 level instead of the G5 level, too.
Just a thought, not sure if it's true or not -
Defensive coaches discovered P5 athletes are harder to tackle than G5. Might want to attend a couple Saban seminar's this summer.whatshouldicareabout said:
