Almighty. It was a shitty game; it was a shitty scrimmage. There was a scoreboard, real officials, and a football field. These were about the only things reminiscent of a football game. The play from both team was shitty. Very shitty. I just hope the shit gets flushed, and soon.RoadDawg55 said:
Christ. It's pretty hard to be worse than 1-11, but whether Hawaii wins 3, 4 or 8 games, they suck. It was a shitty game. What the fuck happened to this board's standards? Good football is good football. Bad football is bad football. We all know what both look like. Last Saturday was bad football.whatshouldicareabout said:
This isn't last year's Hawaii team.Houhusky said:I stopped reading here so maybe you made a better point further down, but its fucking stupid to think that holding Hawaii to 16 points means anyFUCKINGthing about the ppg we will allow over the course of the season.
Not to mention Hawaii will likely be near the bottom of the Div1 teams with play in offensive output
last year they were
114th in rushing
27th in passing
43rd in plays run
74th in total yards
94th in yards per play
58th in yards per game
They had over 4 YPC in three games last year, @UNLV, @Navy, vs. Army
they were a shitty offense last year and will likely be a pretty shitty offense again this year
I dont think the defense was the main issue (because there were other more concerning things going on with the offense) but it was fair from good and very far from what I expected from what should be a dominate front 7.
FWIW, Hawaii has a new QB, Iosefa returned from an injury that sidelined him for most of 2013, and they're running a new offense that pushed tempo, utilized the QB's mobility, and relied on Iosefa's power run game (how many runs did you see them pull the weakside guard or lead with a blocker?). I'm not expecting them to be significantly better than they were last year, but they'll be better based on Iosefa's return alone.
We'll find out how they are this year after they play OSU and Colorado later this month.
Maybe they suck a little less than expected. Oh, wow they have a good RB (he's never even rushed for more than 590 yards in a season). Every team in the PAC 12 has good players. The teams in our other 3 scrimmages probably have some good players (Eastern certainly has a few). It's no excuse to stink it up. -
"What I am saying is that if the UW defense gives up 16 ppg on average for the season ... or really anything up to 20 points per game ... I'm going to tell you that we're going to have a damn good season."
so thinking we will have a damn good season or not?
