Welcome to the Hardcore Husky Forums. Folks who are well-known in Cyberland and not that dumb.

i dont think UW plays scared this week

Just a hunch, but I think the team will actually start fast and score 30 on offense.

Will that be enough to win? Probably not, but I think DeBoer will have the team pissed off and hungry to win

38-35 Ducks. Back and forth until Ducks get the stop and then convert the game winning FG.

Any QB that can't outscore Brownsocks should vacuum his couch.

The Huskies have played scared in Eugene for 25 years. It’s in their heads. Expect no different.

Other than a few years when Oregon has sucked this has been the case in Eugene or Seattle no matter how good Washington has or hasn't been. The mental part is huge and you can see it with how well WSU teams, which UW has been better than, playing Oregon much tougher almost every year for a long time.

I would think the pressure is on Oregon, particularly if they start slowly on offense. If they win, it will be an upset and if they lose, it was expected.

Listen fellas, dont twist. I'm not predicting a UW win.

I just think the days of the 17+ guaranteed curbstomp are long gone.

If UW offense is clicking the Ducks are going to be in a tuff game

Oregon scoring by quarter this year rank 1-4: 2nd, 3rd, 1st, 4th. It's the middle of the game that they typically pull away. I never worry about their first quarter output, more how they actually look.

Someone besides Rome will have to step up to help. Good as he is, I don't think the Penix and Odunze are winning that game by themselves. One or two other guys have to show up. I would be nice if one of them were a running back, but whatever.

I like to say the best skull-fuckings are the 'not-scared' variety. ILTST.

This was my main disappointment at the game Saturday.

Polk and McMillan aren't physical enough.

They are going to have to force it to Culp to have a chance. He should be a decent mismatch with their d.

Richard Newton should be used a lot more in this game as well.

Agree with you about Dick Newton because it will be probably be in the low 40's and raining by kickoff.

I think the Husky O will find a way to score some points but I don't see more than 27 or 30. It will all come down to slowing Oregon's balanced offense and at least tying (if not winning) the turnover battle.

I anticipate the Husky D doing ok in Run D but they won't be able to get off the field on 3rd and 4th downs as often as needed. They probably won't get enough pressure on Nix and that means their WRs will get open for too many catch and run plays against a leaky secondary.

This thinking is somewhat correct, unfortunately I just don't think the year lines up this season. Last year was the year for even an average UW team to beat an overrated Oregon team in Husky Stadium but the Huskies were just too much of a disaster. I think this team easily could have won that game last year.

On the road with Oregon's offense taking off with the help of Crisco's well-coached and developed OLine and some weirdo fucking miracle in Bo Nix and with UW a long ways from figuring it out on defense, I just don't see it happening. UW needed Gordon and McDuffie to come back for no reason Oregon style.

Oregon will start fast and finish the game by half time - and the UW will score late to make it only a small massacre.

and I will be dumb enough to watch the entire game

    35-10 half time

    Agree.

    I won’t watch.

35-19 at half so we? can Doog with false hope that we’re only 2 scores back

Wazzu scored what, 40 points on these guys. Wazzu's offense is shitty screens and QB scrambles.

Oregon's DBs are almost as shit as ours (?)
One of Oregon's shit DBs is out for a half.
Weather is cold and decent for game time.
This is the worst D we've (?) played for 3 weeks.

UW needs to go for it on every 4th down, Never kick a FG, figure Oregon is going to score every tim, Get the gayme in the 50s and see what happens.

-WSU got seven off a pick six and I don't think Nix has thrown an int since. They also got a score as time expired when the game was over so their offense really only scored like 27.
-Christian Gonzalez, the CB they stole from Colorado is good and probably gonna go first round. I'm sure they put him on Odunze, which isn't good for UW.
-I agree they need to just go out there and roll the dice and see what happens. I think the now conservative Chipper has to regret kicking a bunch of FGs against them instead of forcing the action.

I don't think they were prepared for UCLA being actually kind of good and I think UCLA was super fresh after four weeks of playing joke teams. There were just down by 23 by the time they put it together.
