I was impressed they took Tuallapapa out. Petersen would have stubbornly kept the safe guy in all game

I forgot how lucky Lake was to beat Cal last year.LawDawg1 said:Lake, Peterson, and Sark all lose that game last night.
After building a 14-point lead in the 2nd half, UW faded. UW had 62 yards on 19 plays across 5 drives and 0 points to end the half. Cal had 232 yards on 35 plays across 6 drives and 14 points. All the momentum was with Cal. It look a missed FG as time expired to go into OT where Cal fumbled on the 1-yard line on what would be a certain TD to lose the game. -
I think Petersen gets it done last night for UW.
I can can guarantee you Cristobal or Sark find a way to lose that game, albeit in much different fashions.
Cristobal would abandon the passing game and mis-manage critical possessions by going turtle on first and throwing WR screens on 3rd and 11.
Sark would end up with 150yds in penalties and 3 second half turnovers with a couple of 2nd and short trick plays turned into big TFLs.
Either way it would have been special. -
The difference in clock management between the Stanford Verdell fumble game and Saturday vs UCLA is absolutely insane.thechatch said:I think Petersen gets it done last night for UW.

It's really not that hard but it is a good indicator of your coach's IQ.dtd said:

Race just sit your boney little cunt down. You still look foolish from the 'lambo didnt win shit' post you made an hour ago and Pup had to correct you on. As usual, and for the last 23+ years, Pup has fucked you up thoroughly enough. Youre done and henceforth Just shut it!!!!!!
You're like that annoying little bitch CNN reporter when God Trump takes questions from the press. He quickly, like Pup, silences and has you removed expeditiously. Again Race, you're Acosta tactics dont work well. Not a good analogy, Jimmy hasnt came out closet yet -

UW out-gained Cal by 170 yards, held them to 6-15 on third down, got the bullshit pick penalty that I swear only gets called against our Dwags to take 7 off the board and then missed a FG. That sort of adversity would have tanked a Pete or Sark led team. The phantom holding penalty when the boys were salting the game away was also a back breaker for Husky teams of the recent past. This team over came the bad momentum and won a game on the road against a team that’s won six in a row at home. Big step for Boner IMHO.

The penalties hurt and the most glaringly, obviously bad one took the clinching TD off the board. UW gets to coast most of the 4th quarter otherwise.theknowledge said:UW out-gained Cal by 170 yards, held them to 6-15 on third down, got the bullshit pick penalty that I swear only gets called against our Dwags to take 7 off the board and then missed a FG. Could have easily been up 17-0 at half.
There were three possible great games for UW, and they got stuck with the 25% chance of a shittily called game, and still won.
I'll take it.
But yeah, DBs getting sliced and diced by Jack "the snake" Plummer, would happen in every scenario. -
Though if UW had been up by 3 scores or more by the late 3rd / early 4th, it would have made Cal more 1 dimensional and made the pass D a little easier while allowing the pass rushers to pin their ears back earlier.Kingdome_Urinals said:Could have easily been up 17-0 at half.

Regardless, the bye week comes at a good time for the D to fix some things. They can't fix everything because the personnel is what it is but they can do a better job of scheming to protect weaknesses. It also helps that, after the Beav game, UW has 8 days before going playing @ Oregon. -
So you're saying the back seven will be tanned, rested, and ready?HFNY said:Regardless, the bye week comes at a good time for the D to fix some things. What was encouraging about the game was the second half adjustments by the offense. What was not encouraging about the game were the second half adjustments made by the defense.
-
Agreed. Despite Rod Gilmore’s terrible explanation, I don’t understand why that was our offensive game plan for the first half.BleachedAnusDawg said:What was encouraging about the game was the second half adjustments by the offense. It's better when they don't get too far behind and decide to throw it to catch up. Let them think they need to run to keep us "honest." The minute they go 2 minute offense through the air, we're? fucked.AtomicDawg said:

As much as I hate that douche Lanning with his stupid "eat," millennial slogans, hand gestures, and tard tennies, we? need to steal his playbook strategy and steal some possessions. If we can't stop anyone - just go for the onside kick. Every single time. It doesn't matter if they go 80 yards or 45 yards. Teams will score on this defense. Steal a possession. Do what your previously did - go for it on 4th down. Almost every single time. Same logic. This team won't stop anyone. Why give the ball to them on purpose?
