I went ahead and listened to Richard and some other guy do analysis of Russell Wilson and the Broncos. I was thinking a guy as smart as him would be great at that. But he was really bad at it.

What's the basis for Sherman being smart? I've never understood the assumption. He always seemed like a guy who couldn't see past his emotions.

He did a series of videos, maybe for ESPN, where he was explaining game film and things he was looking for when he prepared for an opponent. The answer is (or was) NO. Athletes get no breaks once they are in, but they get somewhat of a break on admissions. A friend of mine played BSB/FB at Furd. He was a smart guy, but not a brainiac, probably a 3.5 or so in HS. He alway told us that the hardest thing about going to Stanford was getting in. I coached for a year at a "Little Ivy", and the school turned down a ton of 1600-SAT's applications. My boss pushed for a kid that had the lowest SAT ever admitted (970-ish, IIRC). The registrar and AD pretty much made the HC sign his life away to do it, and it was kept under wraps, big time...that kid was an All American (baseball and academic), and is a federal judge now...csb
