The old scouts talk about "The good face", where you can look into a kid's face and see that he's a baller (it doesn't show up as data on a metrics report). I see it. For me, he's Griffey without the entitlement and immaturity. Not saying he's Griffey, or that Griffey was "bad", don't twist, but I love watching him play the game...he plays with so much joy (Suarez too), every game, win or lose. It is genuine, and it is refreshing to watch, speaking as as a salty old red ass.
The lights are getting brighter, and he's not shrinking away from it...It is so rare that a kid that age can have that kind of impact on a MLB club...not the performance, but the impact in the dugout and clubhouse, from what I'm hearing. Rookies were (and more than likely still are) told to sit down and shut up, listen, watch, seen but not heard. Dip has done a great job of collecting a bunch of good make-up guys that can actually play... -

Heard a stat on the radio yesterday - the Mariners are one of only 7 teams with above .500 records against teams over .500. That includes the Dodgers, Astros, Mets and I forget who else. I didn't realize it was so exclusive.chuck said:

It's lining up pretty well really. Ms offense is streaky as fuck, and they just stumbled through one of the downturns. I like where they are now...on the rise again i think.

For sure. The starting pitching is elite. The offense needs more consistency. I'm not sure how to get it. Some tough decisions have to be made.CuntWaffle said:

So am I correct that that the #3 wild card would be the best draw?
I get that home games are nice. Toronto and especially Tampa are way tougher matchups than Cleveland.
Doubt anyone would disagree that #2 is the worst of both worlds. -

i say get the astros out of the way as soon as possible. theres no way around them. either get swept outta there immediately or do the unthinkable.
