I went to Safeway today myself. The check out clerk had a tag that said she had been there 33 years. I get that that is her career and what she knows but I was wondering how in the world she never thought, “I hate Susan and Barry, I’m going to Fred Meyer or this new manager sucks, I’m going to Costco.”

She’s probably transferred stores a few times in her 33 years. I’ve been at 4 stores within the same company in 18 years. You have to do it.
