Utah is going to massively underwhelm this year

Probably starts with getting ass blasted by Florida.

I'm #Allin on the SEC crushing Oregon and Utah

And Notre Dame ending Cal's football program.RaceBannon said:I'm #Allin on the SEC crushing Oregon and Utah
And Wisconsin out drinking and destroying cuoglet.
And Beavlet getting shit stomped by the truckers at home. -
Besides that, how do you replace 27 year start Britt Covey?haie said:They got hot at the end of last year and they give off a vibe of a little mountain west team that can't handle the pressure of being a defending champion.

@89ute! True??

probably won’t get to see those happen, cuog and beavlet aren’t getting lifeboats.

Utah will win the conference. And beat FL.

The South is going to be terrible this year (moreso than normal) and they get usc in SLC.

There is no more north or south anymorentxduck said:The South is going to be terrible this year (moreso than normal) and they get usc in SLC.

Losses to Florida, SC, UCLA, Oregon, and possibly a random game to a shitty team where they score 7-13 points.
It's a competitive conference. No one wins the league two years in a row unless the winner of their division let's them go play Clay Helton in a championship game. -
-
Only for CCG purposes (at least this year). Utah still plays all 5 South opponents and only 4/6 from north, so yes they have an easier schedule than north teamswhatshouldicareabout said:

I don't quite understand the steam for Utah this year.

The South should be better just because SC upgraded and if Chip is going to win more than 8 games it has to be this year. Arizona will be better. ASU might suck but not as bad as SC and Colorado did last year.ntxduck said:

Then they have to go to Oregon (who will be jacked out of their minds to not lose to them for a 3rd time), they get OSU again who has already beat them. I dunno, I don't see it this year. -
They butt fucked O twice in 2 weeks. I wouldn't bet against Whittingham. Guy is a winner and always exceeds expectations.haie said:They got hot at the end of last year and they give off a vibe of a little mountain west team that can't handle the pressure of being a defending champion.

He got punked by Washington and Oregon over and over before last year. Couldn't really beat SC either.Ice_Holmvik said:

CU may go Owen and ASU is going to be terrible. Agree Arizona will be better. Usc too but still poor on the lines and that’s where Utah eats.haie said:

True however the resources he has to work with is well below UW/OU levels consistently. Whittingham is a winner.haie said:

You make some good points. He's just been clowned by the doogs so many times. 2017. 2020 to Lake. LulzIce_Holmvik said:

Utah was always kind of weak at QB and now seem to have a good one. I can’t believe Huntley is a NFL QB.
I think they are rightfully the favorites.
ASU’s demise is greatly exaggerated. They got a decent QB transfer and while their recruiting is now shit, that won’t be felt for a few years. They are still a 7 or 8 win team.
USC will be better.
UCLA will be the same. -
Utah is like the Seahawks. Their roster looks kinda shitty but they’re usually there at the end with a chance to do something you didn’t think they could. Yeah, there are seasons this doesn’t line up, like last year, but the Utes are tuff. Not Pat Hill tuff, but it takes more than a few body blows to beat them.
-
Whittingham needs to give Helton half his salary or more.TheHB said:Utah is like the Seahawks. I’m not a Whittington fan, but he’s done a damn good job, especially when you compare the list of dreck coaches that have come and gone in the conference while he’s been at Utah. And the Utes usually contend. It’s fucking Utah!haie said:

He’s a good coach. He would do well at a bigger school.TheHB said:

Utah is exhibit A about freaking out about recruiting. They win or make the conference title game almost every year and they rarely pull in big time recruits. There are only so many players that are clearly standouts. It’s why Alabama, Ohio State, Georgia, etc have five first rounders every year. Those teams aren’t in the PAC 12. Classes ranked in the 20’s and 30’s can win this conference with good coaching. -
And yet 'we"? Have lost to Oregon repeatedly outside a couple years with Pete and Whittingham and his 2 stars took them to the wood shed twice in 2 weeks.haie said:

The PAC is pretty bad. Anyone with a decent roster and a few things that go their way can win it.
-
UW's 2016 and 2017 teams would both plunger any Oregon team since Mariota left. Pete's success made him ramp up OKG and we took too many soft pussies and kept trotting out a shitty offense.Ice_Holmvik said:

Yoot always starts out like shit. So Florida wins that one. However, they have all of the pieces to run train on the PAC 12.
Even without an 8th year exception for Covey. -
Wasn't impressed with Florida last year. Doubt their offense will do much against Ute defense.Kaepsknee said:Yoot always starts out like shit. So Florida wins that one. However, they have all of the pieces to run train on the PAC 12.

Will be low scoring, but I see Utah winning 20-13. -
"Utah is going to suck next year" reads like the kind of football anal-isis I used to barf onto the board back when UW was "leveling up" and Oregon "wouldn't do shit" with Herbert and Meat and their soft, pussy recruits. Predicting the happening of simply what you want to happen can tend to be pretty embarrassing in hindsight.
