19% among Hispanic voters is extraordinary. Biden always, always finds a way to fuck it up.

The entire Democratic party is done if Hispanics bolt right. This is glorious. Hope getting rid of Trump was worth it. Likely to give the GOP power for a decade. Checkmate morons.

I wish you were right but 1. The American public is dumber than a box of rocks 2. The GOP always fucks everything up because they so badly want to be loved and invited to the party
The dems already have opened up fall camp and working on the whole playbook. Leaving unguarded thumb drives behind is just one of those internal controls that all MBA students learn about. Just ask the dazzler how important internal controls are. He yaps about them all the time.

Another great thing about the migration of Hispanics rightward will be watching the Dems want to build a wall and get behind border security in 10 years. If they are not introducing a reliable voting block they will want border security as much as conservatives do. We might actually get a functioning and secure border finally.

Americans of Latin American descent hate illegal immigration and the leftist assault on the family and religion. Simple fact.
This, despite their innate tendency towards communism, which of course seeks to tear asunder family and all other human relations to anything but the state.

I think the average Hispano is at least socially conservative. It's not so much a political choice as a byproduct of culture. Some Pac 10 Mexicans tend to get confused by the white devil's prodding toward liberal views, but the Mexicans in Texas and the southwest and southeast are not confused. @UW_Doog_Bot can elucidate more on this for us.

Despite this, they all have a tendency toward communism. Or so I'm told. @oregonblitzkrieg

It is tragic when the cool kid doesn't realize he's the cool kid and twists himself into a knot to be accepted by the fuck ups. You're right about this.

A mere 26 Million more votes were cast than in 2016.

That's how compelling the basement dweller was as a candidate.

    Right.

How much of that tendency stems from poverty and corruption?

Most of it, I think. I don't think it's innate.

All three stand on their own merit.

    Hmmmmmm

    1st generation definitely socially conservative.

2nd generation less so. Though I will say, lots of my friends are in the same camp as me where we tend towards social libertarianism rather than social progressivism.

At a funeral a few weeks ago and the divide was stark. There's the one female cousin and the couple of wives who have embraced the LatinX SJW narrative.

Then there's all the guys who are now having families and several who quietly admitted to voting for Trump. We talked about the insanity of schools, how the LGBTQIA2+ movement has jumped the shark, etc. And laughed at the women(quietly behind their backs bc Latinas are spicy tacos and will make a seen, even at a funeral)

I think Hispanics don't have a tendency towards communism but culturally it's very patriarchal and that translates to politics sometimes. They relate to a strong man of the people who will help take care of them Como Padre y Dios. That's why Trump I think won so many over. He's here to fight for them and they know it and can relate to it. It's more populism than anything else.

*shrug just my anecdotal experience and thoughts. Many tacos vote for the dems bc that's the legacy of unions and organizing from the 60's. The same way Trump was breaking traditional strangleholds on unions is part of why Hispanics are questioning their traditional voting.

That's also part of why I have my doubts about DeSantis, will he have that type of ability to attract people regardless of color or traditional voting block? My wife's Puerto Rican family(not by blood) love Papi Santis but the blacks don't seem to so who knows.

I've heard and read the same about Germans. You know, where the guys who cooked up the idea of communism are from. Maybe OBK was right. The Hispanos & the Germans lean naturally toward totalitarianism. I guess I should apologize.

That's why blue collar white people used to vote for them too. They woke up. Lolz.

DeSantis just doesn't have Don's charisma. For a decent % of the people out there, that amounts to Trump's bombast and his "willing to say anything to anyone anywhere" shock & awe. Americans like that sort of thing. Or a lot of them do. DeSantis is subdued by comparison. I would guess DeSantis is a lot smarter and has other qualities over Don, but he doesn't have Trump's star power. Don't get me wrong. He's no Ted Cruz, who people naturally dislike for reasons I can't quite put my finger on, even though I share the same instincts about him.

    Anyway,

Probably 100% of it. I'm sure there are various cultural traits out there that favor one system over another, all else being equal. I just always thought it was a weird assumption that obk made about Latin Americans.

    Anyway,

I'd blame illiteracy and not being educated for the Latin love of dictators. Howver, the Germans were probably the best educated people on the planet as long as economics weren't involved. They loved themselves some authoritarians. The truth is that the English were different from the rest of the planet and historically sought out limited government and that came to the ultimate fruition with the US until big government arrived in the 1960s with our "educated" elites deciding that their way was better. Just win the war on poverty by creating the great welfare state. Pure genius.
