If you're untethered to your political ideology and actually calling balls and strikes with a dash of critical thinking, you can see how lost the left is right now.
When this country turns around is when the majority of real liberals take back the label from the Marxists that have co-opted both the name and the Democratic Party. Or switch to the Republican party.

Apologies to those not receiving FREE PUB! but there's a hell of a lot more to that could be mentioned. Those who are in favor of the free market, limited government intervention in one's personal life, protection of individual rights and beliefs. The *real* fiscally conservative, socially liberal mindset.
The thing that keeps The Throbber from going full on libertarian is the degree of government involvement. Hardcore libertarians would argue that things like borders are unnecessary. There is also a necessary evil of governments for things like providing for the common defense, construction of large scale projects like roads, etc.
Our? Administration fee for doing someone else's large high risk capital project is 15%.
Our contractors charge 10% for Administration of projects.

In Oregon, we don't build anything the public wants. I-5 is still 4 lanes in North Portland. No new bridges for autos since the early 1970s (they have replaced a couple - but no new capacity). Hundreds of millions spent on the new I-5 interstate bridge over the Columbia with no definitive "plan" yet.UW_Doog_Bot said:

Just haven't seen a whole lot of interstate freeway systems or Hoover Dam type projects pulled off without some form of government involvement.

Historically, I agree. But back in the day, the bureaucracy (pre-government unions) was responsive and they did have a get 'er done attitude. Today, it's just cover your ass and phone your job in. The interstate highway system was supported by almost all dems and republicans. The big construction companies and construction unions were behind it. Today, the greens throw a road block against any construction that isn't "green". Bridges for cars? Nope. Widen the highway? Nope. Build new dams? Nope.

I-5 bridge configuration being argued. Bike loons want more bike lanes and sidewalks. Sounds likes Max is going to happen. No additional travel lanes but major changes to access Jantzen beach. Green loons think new plan will encourage more travel by car because it will ease congestion and that's bad. Apparently.WestlinnDuck said:

The media and shit left made them pay attention bc of Trump.
They wanted to go back to not paying attention once Biden was elected.
