So McCarty will be POTUS.MikeDamone said:
If Harris is president and can’t get her own VP in there, then the position remains. A vacant until the election. (See LBJ). If Harris is then removed from office, the speaker of the house is then president.WestlinnDuck said:
Yeah, she is VP until she resigns, dies, impeached or becomes President due to a presidential vacancy. So, if Harris becomes president because the dementia patient resigns or replaced under the 25th amendment the VP spot is vacant and there is no VP to break a Senate tie breaker on any 50-50 split. Same thing if Kameltoe resigns. No VP to exercise the VP tie breaker vote as set out in the Constitution.Bob_C said:
So isn’t that a strong reason why this scenario would never happen in a 50/50 senate? You’d need the VP to break the tie on a nomination for a VP.MikeDamone said:
Yes, the president can and has done that. Like any appointee, it has to be approved by the Congress . See Nixion naming Ford VP when Agnew resigned. Ford was never elected president or Vice President.Sledog said:I don't think you get to just name someone VP?

Well, no. Because the VP spot remains vacant until the election. Pelosi will be in line until then.46XiJCAB said:

If dementia patient is still in office Camela votes to break the tie then resigns and goes to the supremes. She has even less business being in the court than the white house.WestlinnDuck said:

"I am in control here." Al Haig.

If you're comparing Haig (who looked like Chuck Knox) to Bannon, you're missing the mark. Apples and oranges.46XiJCAB said:"I am in control here." Al Haig.

2 Bold Predictions:
Biden is going to end the covidian policies by April, even if it will upset the crazy wokies who want to mask forever. I'm not sure if this will matter though. I predict that Biden's obvious mental decline means he's going to be pushed out this summer. He will not be around in November. -
Today in January, I disagree. I listened/watched to that presser a few weeks ago. It was not good, however, he held it together for 2 hours. I don't think he's consistently gonzo enough for invoking the 25th or whatever. Just how I see it.hardhat said:2 Bold Predictions:

Re the Vid, a month ago, there seemed to be an Open Up narrative shift, only to retrench again. Sad! -
I'm not willing to bet money on it yet...you're probably right.GrundleStiltzkin said:

But still

Nobody here that voted for Joe has expressed any concern

Too many soft admissions of what we already knew from CDC and the media in the last month for some type of internal polling crisis to not be occurring.GrundleStiltzkin said:

Now it’s time to find the right off ramp to be able to claim victory without admitting the opposition was right all along. They are struggling with that one at the moment.
