Imagine this scenario: Harris resigns this year under pressure from the DNC because of reasons. Hilary is named VP. Biden gets removed on January 1/21/23. 💥 Hillary is president for up to 10 years.WestlinnDuck said:
He'd be gone today if he hadn't "selected" Kameltoe as VP.MikeDamone said:I've said from day one that if Biden is removed it will be as soon as possible into the third year of his term. This allows his replacement to serve out the last two years of Biden's term and then run twice more. 10 years if they win.
If Biden goes out before that his replacement can only run once after serving out Biden's term. 6 ish years if they win.
I'm not saying he WILL be removed. So don't twist. -
Wouldn't his replacement have to be Harris? Is there a legitimate scenario whereby she is not the next in line? To me, this was the most confounding choice for his VP if the plan was always what you just laid out. She doesn't make sense and never has.MikeDamone said:I've said from day one that if Biden is removed it will be as soon as possible into the third year of his term. Not if they have her "resign" first.RoadTrip said:

I'm all in favor of getting even but Bitch McConnel is more scared of Trump than Biden. Nothing is stopping the GOP now other than a lack of guts. These issues could be front and center even as a minority partyBob_C said:
It’s 67. 5 years ago I was in the just let Obama, Hilary fade off camp. I no longer am because of Russia, Ukraine, Jan 6 and Covid.RaceBannon said:If they don't have 60 senate votes then don't be retards like the democrats
Republicans should go hard after anyone and everything next year. Specifically Covid.
Force democrat senators to vote against impeachment for Hunters China and Ukraine stuff. Force them to vote against impeachment for willful law breaking at the border and Afghanistan.
The ones that try like Boebert and Greene are marginalized and ignored and their own "leadership" abandons them
Put Biden up for impeachment and the entire media complex goes into full attack on the right. A loss makes him stronger like it did Clinton, The squish middle did pay attention to the failed effort against Trump
All I'm saying is that if you're gonna do it then fucking win
In the meantime stop sitting around scratching your balls and make noise NOW -

I don't think you get to just name someone VP?
-
Yes, the president can and has done that. Like any appointee, it has to be approved by the Congress . See Nixion naming Ford VP when Agnew resigned. Ford was never elected president or Vice President.Sledog said:I don't think you get to just name someone VP?

So isn’t that a strong reason why this scenario would never happen in a 50/50 senate? You’d need the VP to break the tie on a nomination for a VP.MikeDamone said:

Yeah, she is VP until she resigns, dies, impeached or becomes President due to a presidential vacancy. So, if Harris becomes president because the dementia patient resigns or replaced under the 25th amendment the VP spot is vacant and there is no VP to break a Senate tie breaker on any 50-50 split. Same thing if Kameltoe resigns. No VP to exercise the VP tie breaker vote as set out in the Constitution.Bob_C said:

If Harris is president and can’t get her own VP in there, then the position remains. A vacant until the election. (See LBJ). If Harris is then removed from office, the speaker of the house is then president.WestlinnDuck said:
