Karen Ramming-Me’s NIL department at UW is working on a graphic that shows the lifetime value of a single UW degree at $30M adjusted for chinflation.

This is all allegedly btw.

We’d all rather find help with baking recipes tho

Meanwhile, in Montlake...

I want her to start blocking everyone here

UW Is seriously fucked. You all realize that right? The Don James sanctions have nothing on this disaster. Good luck the rest of the way.

It’s easier to accept it though knowing that college football is ded.MikeDamone said:UW Is seriously fucked. You all realize that right? The Don James sanctions have nothing on this disaster. Good luck the rest of the way.

You guys are acting like buying players is a novel concept with NIL. Teams that care always have, they just don’t have to hide it now.
All the NIL is, is the payment of players with an outside corporate name behind it. Set up a corporation, dump money into it, and send it to prospects and existing players. If Jackson St can outbid Florida st for a top recruit, then any power 5 school can get anybody they want if the price is right.
Imagine the Free Pub if Sonic sold some of his Bitcoin, and Derek and the rest of you pooled money together. Sign a Hardcore Husky NIL to one single top recruit. -
I tend to agree. I don't think NIL by itself is what dooms CFB. Allowing kids to leave whenever they want, combined with other schools now being able to buy them off and use lesser schools as their farm system, is the problem. Fixing the portal with terms regarding how many transfers you can make, how long you have to wait to transfer, etc will take care of a lot of the current problems.greenblood said:You guys are acting like buying players is a novel concept with NIL. As it stands now they can make just 1 transfer without sitting out.BleachedAnusDawg said:

The reason the SEC has been the loudest opponent for NIL is that it has brought more schools into it. Thus, raising the price for the players. SEC teams used to be able to buy players with $500 a week stipends and a $25k signing bonus from local car dealerships. Now, these same players want $1-$2 million annually.BleachedAnusDawg said:

I hope we become an Alabama and Ohio State farm club, we would have some decent players for a year at a time...
We would be one of the top Triple A clubs -
This must be the “coming up with reasons to emotionally detach from the sport entirely (the whole sport is doomed!!!!) because their program is trash” stage of grief. Cfb still gonna be rolling a decade from now despite your take my ball and go home manifestations.

Yep. The portal is going to get real fun with the NIL deals now. It's free agency. Biggest wallet wins. Meanwhile Karen and Jen want you to laugh at dogs and send brownie recipes. Fuck this rinky dink program.BleachedAnusDawg said:

It will still be around. And Alabama will be defending their 11th consecutive title. I’m sure they will pack the house…and Oregon will be on their 6th coach from now. Sounds fun.ntxduck said:This must be the “coming up with reasons to emotionally detach from the sport entirely (the whole sport is doomed!!!!) because their program is trash” stage of grief. That doesn't mean much. The government is still around and it's been useless for at least 40-50 years.ntxduck said:Cfb still gonna be rolling a decade from now despite your take my ball and go home manifestations.

The reason why so many prefer college to NFL is the emotional connection. When that’s gone because of NIL bullshit and unrestricted free agency it’s no longer the same sport. So what’s the point?ntxduck said:This must be the “coming up with reasons to emotionally detach from the sport entirely (the whole sport is doomed!!!!) because their program is trash” stage of grief. It'll be worse than Washington because no one cares about shitty schools in Eugene Oregon.greenblood said:

In the arms race to get a taste of being the new Clemson the sport forgot why it has boosters to begin with. Becoming the little NFL with marching bands doesn’t sound appealing to me either. -
That strong feeling that alums have when they return to their schools for Homecoming and reunions. That will fritter away too when it comes to football and basketball.YellowSnow said:

Look, I don’t disagree with the opinions that UW doesn’t seem serious doing whatever it takes to win in NIL era “college” football.DerekJohnson said:

I just don’t know if it’s something worth saving at this point.
