I'm impressed with myself for remembering, if I'm indeed correct.
Thompson was all but invisible as an underclassman. I remember people clamoring for him to play, then being nonplussed when he did. He was pretty solid when he moved inside as an upperclassman. He was OK outside as a contain DE, but wasn't quick enough to be much of an outside rusher.
Smalls has the coming season to show me something before I give up on him. He's still an underclassman. -

The two Pac 12 title games in 2019 and 2020 made his career at Oregon. Oregon doesn’t win those two games without him.

When you make it to 31st on the Pac-12 all-time sack list you're entitled to call it a day, okay? Announcers told me he was schemed against though and I don't know how an elite NFL talent could ever overcome that in the worst Pac-12 ever. He was at his best against USC when they ran an air raid without an air raid blocking scheme.

That's the right take. I'm not sure I'd want to coach him at the college level. In the NFL his fuckbaggery will stand out less and he'll have to be very, very good to get away with it.chuck said:
