I believe in acquiring talent which they do. And unlike Washington, they have a good culture established. Their downfall is QB play and the style they want to play thanks to Mario. If he ever changes, they can take off.RoadDawg55 said:

But Oregon is only getting better. They are on pace for their third top ten class, and most of their talent is young. They are only getting better. And that 2018 team got smacked Ohio State on a neutral field while Oregon went on the road without two of their top players on defense and won.AtomicDawg said:
Oregon lost to Stanford and was blown out by Utah. They’re good, but more like how uw won the conference in 2018. Nobody in this conference is untouchable. This Utah team is not any better than the other Utah teams of the last 4 seasons, and they were dominating a lot of their games. This conference sucks. You can get results so much quicker.sonics1993 said:
The players in the portal that are needed to change Washington aren't going to be coming here. Especially for a Fresno State coach who they don't know. This is going to take multiple recruiting classes, especially with the talent Oregon has loaded up with. The best I can see is Washington being competitive is in year three if everything goes right.ntxduck said:As much as I’d like to agree, in the age of the transfer portal you can fix things (obviously dependent on making a good hire) quicker than you used to. We all do. Everyone likes talent but outside the too teams, the star rating means dick. Yeah, the top recruiting classes are the kens winning titles, but any schmuck can simply rank Alabama, Ohio State, Georgia, etc at the top.sonics1993 said:

Oregon gets some very good players. It’s not a roster of tons of elite guys tho. They are the best team in the conference but they aren’t a scary juggernaut that is steadily progressing. It’s like the leveling up bullshit with Pete, UW, and their more talented classes. I’ll believe they are getting better when I see it. I think I have a pretty good idea of who they are. They aren’t going anywhere, but this isn’t just the beginning of an unprecedented run for them either. -
Oregon is a QB away from running the table in this shit conference with relative ease. No other school can say that.AtomicDawg said:

Some of you don’t seem to understand how stars work. Stars aren’t based off of fucking SCOUTS you dumb FUCKS. They’re based off of OFFERS. Our SOFT ASS 4 Stars were 4 starsbecause UW WAS top ranked/respected program when they were offered. I know it’s hard to wrap your mind around but Brandon fucking Huffdicks dumbass isn’t gonna be able to predict who will be good, they look at the programs who offer them and assume they will be successful. I.e, Texas. Loaded with 4 stars and 5 stars, why? Cause they got offered by fucking texas and probably Oklahoma. They’re more developed cause they’re from the areas with better HS programs, areas where they pay for strength coaches at the HS level, they don’t send them to FSP to get a rub down lmao
Also, the west coast has been absolutely desolated in HS football over the last two years. So best of luck with recruiting. No HS ball in CA for almost a whole calendar year, programs shutting down. Not to mention our wonderful state playing 5 HS games last spring, haulting Huard from being on campus. (His choice I guess..)
All in all, we?fucking suck. Gregory has been a joke as a linebacker coach, special teams coordinator, DC, and now HC.
Let us pray to Allah that the flag being planted is the spark that can get our? team going because nobody in the fucking building can. -
Get a coach that is good and the players respect, we can be good next year. Big if though.

No they aren’t. Where is this magical QB too? They start Anthony Brown. If they had a guy that was a stud, he would be starting.thechatch said:

Their WR’s are above average at best. No guys that really strike fear.
Their OL is always good. Cristobal does a great job there. Despite losing good RB’s, they will be good at running the ball.
Defense is solid but not scary good. They have had other close games combined with their losses. I’m realistic and realize they will continue to be a top contender in the PAC 12, but they aren’t way ahead of the conference. -

This conference? You mean the Pac-12? You’re arguing we should be hopeful because it’s a tight race for the silver medal in the Special Olympics of college football.AtomicDawg said:I don’t think it’s hard for any team to get quick results in this conference. Yes this team sucks. Not saying it will happen. But nobody has a stranglehold on this conference. -
UW has won 1-2 meaningful bowls in 30 years. You all have been bad and will be bad until you're not, which could be forever.LongDukDong said:Based on this season, the portal and our overrated players, it may be a few seasons before we’re good
From Petersen to this in two years. Truly incredible
We're talking sustained success, not one "good" Neuheisel year where half the games were in doubt until the last play or one first round exit in the CFP. Did Peterson ever win a big game? If 70-21 was big for you guys then that's your problem in a nutshell.
What part of the last 3 decades eludes you?
I'm being serious, when are you guyses going to accept that your school doesn't care about football?

You could replace "program" with "the Middle East" and the "a lot of things" are roughly equivalent.sonics1993 said:A lot of things are wrong with this program.
#masterofunderstatement -
If WSU can be one Beaver win away from the PAC-12 title game with this shit team, the road back to respectability is shorter than you think.
Not saying UW will be good next year, but getting to the PAC-12 championship is doable. -

75% chance we will be shitty next year or two
25% chance this was a coaching rot issue
Based on what we had on field what's coming back, and what's coming in, I vote door number one by miles from here to sun.
Name me a position group outside ILB (where we have two guys who can't get hurt or ever come off field) w/ Edie and Carson you feel good about next year?
Partial credit for Trice

Im with Roadie, i have seen absolutely nothing that tells me oregon is building something scary. Their “culture” is overrated, the players were yelling at each other while utah pushed their shit in.

I actually feel good about the OLBs, WRs and DL next year. Even if McMillan portals, they have Odunze, Polk, Taj Davis, G. Jackson, and Raccanelli / Tinae. The DL has younger talent but couldn't quite put it together (partially scheme based and also new / young position coach).godawgst said:75% chance we will be shitty next year or two

OLBs will feature (a healthy) ZTF, Trice, McDonald, and Smalls. That is definitely top half of conference. -
I would love for Giles to put even half the effort he does shit talking into producing on the fieldHFNY said:

If both OSU and WSU have a shot at the north in the last game of the year, we should be able to turn it around pretty quickly with a competent coach. WSU lost their head coach and 4 assistants mid season and will likely finish 2nd in the north. Stanford and Cal are trending the wrong way. Oregon is the only team that has shown they can be consistent in the north and their in-game coaching still seems suspect.
It is hard to tell how talented this roster is with how shitty the coaching has been. This defense could have been very good if the coaches didn't play with 9 players for most of the year. Playing with 3 DL against WSU shows how inept the coaches are at game planning. No in-game adjustments ever. I don't know where to start with the offense.
A lot of question marks next year, but the same can be said for every team outside of Oregon and Utah.

If Smalls is one of the top ten returning players you're mentioning, then we're clearly fuckedHFNY said:

I would have put it a little more PC and said it reminds me of a certain telethon Jerry Lewis used to host Labor Day Weekend for "his Kids", but either way is acceptable. -

DL looks to be space eaters but not much else. For two years teams have ran it down their throats no matter how many we've put in box. Tuli and Taki are who they are as they go into the Senior year. Two freshman flashed a few plays but banking on them is doogish
OLB ZTF good pass rush, can't hold edge, Trice is at least athletic, Mcdonald, Smalls (???)

Why didn’t Racanelli play? He was hyped in spring and the first couple weeks of fall, then nothing. Has to be better than McMillianRoadDawg55 said:

I would rather watch guys that are working on maxing out their own potential and struggling than these front running pussies riding their high school rankings into carefree losses.
Imagine getting punked that hard on your own field and the only guy that showed any fight was a transfer.
It’s time to reset a standard. Everything earned, nothing given, evaluation is just as, if not more important than stars
I know some here now and former posters always would yell about putting gamers and the “talented” players on the field. Of course we want talented players but there isn’t one fucking guy besides maybe ZTF (if he even comes back) that deserves anything. -
Players who haven’t been allowed to suck yet will always get hype. I’m sure he will be the talk of the town next cool off season.MikeDamone said:

He played at the beginning of the year and could never get open vs McMillan that can get open but can’t catch the ball unless it is on the numbers and his defender is at least two steps behind. So yeah there is that.MikeDamone said:
