They are probably waiting to see how they can fire him while giving him the least amount of money possible. This year is over and has been for weeks so I don't really care if it's this week or at the end of the season, as long as it gets done.FremontTroll said:

This is a different reality though as we're talking about UW athletics. By your logic, which unfortunately doesn't apply, UW would bever chop the balls off of a coach it plans to keep by giving him a one game suspension at a time where his grip on the program is already tenuous at best. Right?FremontTroll said:UW just gave away all its leverage by imposing this penalty while simultaneously putting a black mark in the record of the head ball coach that they apparently want to keep.
Brilliant.
If there were further action contemplated then you keep it open ended with an indefinite suspension.
Probably went into situation without any plan and then panicked.
Best case scenario they are planning to fire at end of year but why wait? And what if they happen to win the last three games? Awkward. -
But again- then why not suspend indefinitely?CuntWaffle said:J

By calling it one game they killed any leverage they had like they want to wrap it up and move on.
My guess is they felt they didn’t have enough to fire with cause but felt they needed to do something to show they are taking the Jimmy situation seriously but by trying to take a middle road they end up with the worst of both worlds. -
They apologized for it on his behalf in the press release. What an embarrassment.CuntWaffle said:J

If anything they may have made it harder to Legally get out of his buyout.
I absolutely believe jimmy fired jondon yesterday and he is still in charge. 81% sure he is back next year. Can’t wait for this epic implosion. Next year is a 0-12 type season if he returns. -
The options were to fire him today or punt.
Jen punted.
Just like Jimmy Saturday night, although this time it was 4th and 2 from the plus side 35 yard line.
Just incredible -
What do they value? It seems we continue to assume that what they value is the same as what we value.
They have been embarrassed in front of their peers by this situation and that is what they are responding to. If he loses his job now it will be because of peer pressure and not his coaching.
I don't see any evidence that current state of the program is much of a concern to them at this point. As long as Jimmy keeps smiling and appears to be fielding a competitive team he will keep coaching. -
They chose another option and made it worse.thechatch said:The options were to fire him today or punt.

First or second year Petersen did that in the first half against Oregonthechatch said:The options were to fire him today or punt.

What an embarrassment. To have two rock bottoms in three days is impressive. -
There it is. Incompetence abounds throughout the administration at several levels, but their number one priority is generating the right PR to make people forget this situation.Blayen said:What do they value? It seems we continue to assume that what they value is the same as what we value.

They had no intention of getting rid of Lake after this year, and this cements it. Lake/Jenn are picking the next OC and it's going to be more 1980's NFL fuck ball offense.
