Y’all are missing the point.
The incident isn’t and shouldn’t be treated as a one-off with CJ text, because then you’re right. The act itself is not the biggest deal in the world.
In this case, It’s symptomatic of much much deeper issues in that lockeroom. -
He violated the code of conduct, he is gone period. AD is trying save her job
-
This really should be the case. Players are likely afraid to speak out.Clevdawg said:He violated the code of conduct, he is gone period. AD is trying save her job

Helmet slaps are part of football. So is shoving a guy in the shoulder pads.
But if it gets Jimmy Fired, I'll feign outrage over it. -
Lake's an embarrassment. I kind of feel sorry for him.
-
It will be very interesting to see if any players come out and voice support for him if the ball starts rolling.
Somehow I doubt it -
True. But who GAF about palace intrigue when we see the dumpster fire end product on the field. I don't care how UW turned into a raging dumpster inferno. Somebody needs to sack up and put the fire out.thechatch said:Y’all are missing the point.

Flashback to Juan Garcia lashing out at teammates in ‘08, trying to hold shit together.Clevdawg said:This is how you handle it. The respect and fear this kid had for CP. No way I let my kid play for Jimmy Lake the Jack Ass. You can’t do what Jimmy Lake did. My kid got recruited to a top 5 program. The recruiting process is all about relationships. Sometimes there is no warm and fuzzy just an offer but that is rare. Jimmy lake will have to explain that to every mother in every living room. Good luck with that. The culture has deteriorated. And if you think that’s ok what he did because that’s tough or that’s football. That’s not being mentally tough, that’s Jimmy Lake being a bitch. Players smell bitch, players smell bullshit, when coaches have favorites and don’t play those that perform best in practice for whatever reason . They smell it. You can tell he has favorites and little to no process . The players are acting out not because they are bad kids. The players are taking it out on themselves and others because they know they can win and are not. No pace for it to go so an organization the team implodes. Because of poor leadership. So they act out they only way they can. Players don’t respect him and the Oregon Coach nailed it. UW represents the worst of College football.

Damn shame what happens to players during this shit

How did you not immediately see USC Sark ‘15 when he did that? No fucking control. So obvious.TurdBomber said:

It is a total nothing burger. But also a gift from God. -
I'm here too. I feel bad for Jimmy. I think the guy did a lot for UW and was one of our best position coaches ever. I actually like the guy. And I think he got fucked last year with COVID. And with all that said, this isn't working and it's not recoverable at this point.Fire_Marshall_Bill said:Lake's an embarrassment. I kind of feel sorry for him.

I hear Gil Dobie punched a bunch of players in the dick, then kicked them in the ass for good measure.Quietcowskee said:How did you not immediately see USC Sark ‘15 when he did that? No fucking control. So obvious.

After all, he brought back the helmet car. That was a huge accomplishment.sinceredawg said:

Dude, I know. More of a joke than anything else. 81% of what I say is a joke. Keep it up and I’m going to blacken the other eye.DugtheDoog said:
Are you fucking joking? This would be our single biggest victory since Utah in 18 P12CG. Moral victory? This would be 100x bigger than a fluke victory over Oregon ever would've been.dirtysouwfdawg said:

I will however vote you up for not using a % higher than 100%. -
Problem is you fire him for this then it becomes your standard. Then you have a coach you like that does this and you will cry foul when he gets told to leave. Better off paying the millions in buy out.

Jimmy would go for that like he would go on 4th and 10 with 2min left.AtomicDawg said:

You use this as a way to negotiate a lower buyout behind closed doors. The incident is the hammer in your case the losses, coaching hires and offensive ineptitude are your nails. If Jimmy doesn't agree to walk away post season they let him know they WILL fire him for cause tomorrow and yougetnothingGIF. Jimmy decides after the options are set in front of him to step away after the season for personal reasons or some other bullshit reason. UW gives him half or a quarter of his buyout and this incident isn't mentioned ever again by the university. Cohen then has months to look for a replacement without media or fan pressure and Jimmy can go and get another DC job without player abuse being an issue. Everyone wins.TheDude said:Problem is you fire him for this then it becomes your standard. Then you have a coach you like that does this and you will cry foul when he gets told to leave. Problem here is your theory has rational adults in the room. Doesn't seam to be the situation. Are you putting your money on Jen to figure this outtheknowledge said:

Jimmy should have shown some comportment and locked Fuavai in an equipment shed on Monday.

Of course not. This was just my grocers logic. Welp, those can ain't gonna stack themselves, gotta go. Would you like a bag today? They are eight cents now. Kill me.TheDude said:

Another aspect we are perhaps underestimating is the fact that Lake has flat out denied having struck the guy - no contrition or any remorse
He could have seriously blunted this in the after game presser with some level of “hey, I got a little animated and probably reacted too strongly, etc.” - but as usual, doubled and tripled down on his own bullshit. I suspect that is why we got the sort of belated Cohen statement as she started to realize where this story was going to go media wise.
Gonna be very hard for him and Cohen to craft the get well story here - he’s going to apologize this week after flat out denying it? Suspend him for a half, for something he says he didn’t do? -

We also don't know what other bullshit Jimmy has perpetrated behind the scenes that could be tacked on to his on-camera shoving. If UW decides to they want Jimmy gone for cause and he takes it to court the university may have a ton of backstory that could be made public. Jimmy might be fine with a reduced buyout instead of fighting.DoubleJDawg said:Another aspect we are perhaps underestimating is the fact that Lake has flat out denied having struck the guy - no contrition or any remorse

Also, what his statements and justifications are in private meetings with Cohen will be part of a decision based on just cause. He's a liar so I bet he's been caught lying about stuff in the past.

disagree. its fake outrage bullshitAtomicDawg said:
You’re not understanding the opportunity. Do you think the Tennessee fanbase actually thought schiano was involved in covering up the Sandusky scandal as an assistant at penn st when they revolted against his hire?phineas said:fuck jimmy lake, but if people are crying about a coach swatting a player and pushing him then fuck you too. no wonder this school is a pathetic sack of shit. everyone involved with it including the fans are whiny bitches.
This is about wins and losses and jimmy equals losses. By any means necessary he needs to be fired. -
I’m okay with fake outrage if it gets the head coach fired. For realz.phineas said:

It is if you’re grasping at straws finding easier ways to fire your coach. Jimmy is the best thing to happen to Oregon football since Willie decided to move back to Florida.lawsandl said:I didn’t think it was that big of deal.
