I got skunked on the Fall River in the spring off that stretch of road. Pup would have netted 50.LebamDawg said:
Yep - but past Sunriver - went quite a ways past the circle that cut off to go into Sunriver. Tamarack? or something like that,YellowSnow said:
Like the road S Century in Sunriver?LebamDawg said:
Pretty country down south of Bend - my daughter has a hunk of land 20 minutes from Bachelor they are planning on developing soon. Down off Century a little past the Lava stuff (closed when I went by) was down there the other day. I am trying to talk her into getting a game camera so she knows what's going on in her piece of heaven.YellowSnow said:
Lol. I don’t live in Redmond. Bend >>> Redmond for amenities.LebamDawg said:Life in Redmond Oregon is a new adventure - not sure why Yella picked this place to set down roots - although Bend is a little further south. Windy as shit but sunny after torrential rains in Chehalis. Left one screwed up state and in another - 8 days till Eye Da Ho.
Fall seems to have hit in a rather spectacular fashion. Was really pretty coming off Mt. Hood once we cleared the mist - what a crappy drive weather wise till hitting Warm Springs area.
I live among the Ponderosa Pines. Bachelor is 25 min from my driveway. Mt Bike single track 1 mile away. -
Right now in the middle of Oregon - Burns the Covid Rebellion capital of Oregon. Have not seen a mask on anyone here. What the heck do people do in windblown high desert areas?
I think I am in the largest county in Oregon with the smallest population. Known for the Bundy Rebellion just south of here. My daughter works for Travel Oregon and was telling me she was passing thru this area and a biker group had special windshield signs made that said "Fuck Kate Brown". She says this defines Burns.
Happy Trails - off to Idaho tomorrow morning -
Better stop in Ontario - last chance for legal weed until Colorado.LebamDawg said:Right now in the middle of Oregon - Burns the Covid Rebellion capital of Oregon. Have not seen a mask on anyone here. What the heck do people do in windblown high desert areas?

Well this rig (hiding behind the house with wheels) got me settled into our new temporary location - Mountain Home, Idaho. Like an oasis in the middle of flat sagebrush. Using this place to get mail forwarded to the Post Office General Delivery. You might not realize how nice it is to not have daily spam in a mail box. Love it. Mrs IamnotinLebam any more says keep it about 64 MPH - hit 80 passing trucks but mainly about 70-73 MPH she was dozing.
Kind of a nice drive out of Oregon until getting close to the Snake river. Road meandered thru the hills along the Malheur river
Freeway heading into Boise has more lanes than Seattle and Tacoma but still have the blackened slicks from tires all of a sudden going 90 degrees to the lane direction and climbing up the concrete barrier. does not matter where one is there is always the same dumb drivers.
-
I bet some might try to tow that with a 3/4 ton pick up. Fuck that. You got the right rig.

Careful, that's my moniker. We can't let the freakishly tall steal my shit.LebamDawg said:

Literally everywhere I've ever lived (spanning five states over three tim zones) has the same refrain "(Insert city of residence here) has the worst fucking drivers."
I figured out a long tim ago that drivers just suck. -
I’m still disappointed Labem didn’t hit Thousand Trails RV Campground in Sun River. That was always my in laws go to when they were trailer trash.

Thousand Trails defines trailer trash - I tried to join but my trailer was too newYellowSnow said:I’m still disappointed Labem didn’t hit Thousand Trails RV Campground in Sun River. That was always my in laws go to when they were trailer trash.

Mabel is on the move again. Being the idiot I am, I plan this trip through eastern Oregon, Idaho, and Utah based on the average temps. Well the reason the average temps are near 65 this time of year is because a week ago they were in the 90's and now the 40's. Snowing where I be 40 miles east of Twin Falls.
"Winter Driving Conditions - Use Caution" and frigging snowing about 500 ft past the sign. How did they know where to put that sign just amazes me.
Anyway, as I hooked up everything this morning it was 38 with a what seemed like -15 wind chill.
and settled in for what the weather report says is 5 days of freezing temps
-
I've driven in heavy, deep snow in Utah in every month of the year, save July and August.LebamDawg said:Mabel is on the move again. Well I roll into Provo and it is 64 degrees and then all hell breaks loose. 50 mph winds. I know when to travel.
Snowing all around us but not too bad really -

was at Mike's grocery and did see a couple sister wives - mentioned it to the Mrs but she was unaware. I did not want to stare at the outfits too much - dressed alike head to toe. I think, but could not confirm, that the armpits were cutout.
So from there went to the town of Frisco - Old Frisco Mining Town to be exact, absolute ghost town. Mined silver, few buildings crumbling away and these neat ovens
area was blocked off by the mining company - fences up and warnings about fumes, cave ins, you know all the fun stuff.
and another picture

Awesome, thank you for updating this.

Well I am now in Arizona for the big game - but I can't find anyone to tailgate with
the stadium is just over that ridge I think.
14 miles out of Freedonia and settling in for a night of sports. Checked the sports schedule and it appears to be basically second tier games. oh well.
Will be here for a while going up to Zion, Bryce, and some other stuff up by Kanab, Utah. Stayed out here at the RV park on the Piaute Indian reservation because I am a cheap bastard. Cost per day is $22 - full hook up and internet.
Here is a shot coming into Kanab, Utah - the color of the hills change drastically coming into this area
