Ruben Patterson: Played for six different NBA teams from 1998 to 2007, known for his defense on the court

And his rap sheet off it.

As I recall Telfair was another SI cover boy as a high school player who didn't end up as the GOAT or GOAT runner up depending on your opinion

I had no idea, other than maybe he was referring to himself as The KobeStopper.

I didn't see much need in drilling deeper

Yeah, he referred to himself as "The Kobe Stopper" while he was playing in Portland. If I remember right, the very next game against the Lakers, Kobe scored like 40-50 points that night. So it became a joke more than a nickname.

How's Terrance Williams getting off so free here? Uncle @RaceBannon, aren't those your Rainier Beach Vikings?

Next level stupidity here - $4.9 Million divided by 18 defendants - about $275K per.

Most of these guys made millions playing ball - and they need another $275K?!?!

    Stupid.

I stopped following the Sonics around when Gary Payton forced the trade and left town.

GP forced that trade? That's not my memory.

Stalin wasn’t really following the Sonics.

Not mine either. GP was my favorite player, still is my favorite player of all time. But that was one of the best deals the Sonics ever made. Completely raped the Bucks.

There's a UW booster that used to attend Sonics practices. He described stuff like Gary refusing to talk to George Karl. So at practice Karl would turn to Grgirich and say "Tell Gary that I want him to XXXXXX", and Gary would turn to Grgurich and said "Tell George I ain't gonna do that."

Anyway, he told me that Gary made it clear to Seattle that he would not resign with them at season's end and wanted out. FYIW
