Dan Raley lashes out at Hardcore Husky Posters

Thanks Taft!

I fucking despise articles like this. Media, who LOVE to question coaches, suddenly turn around, put it all on fans, and ask what could possibly be wrong with us to question this practically saint-like man?!?
Pot stirred up, more shit to write about created. Repeat.
Why should a honeymoon period exist in the first place? This is not a learn-on-the-job school. This is not a moribund program. UW was not suffering and needing a savior.
This is one of the top jobs in the country. This was one of the most talented rosters in the country. This is a team that repeatedly got close, and seemingly only needed a little push, a small change or two, to take the next step into an elite group.
The Petersen departure put a bad taste in the mouth of most every rabid fan. It was difficult to even comprehend the idea of not being able to enjoy The Fucking Rose Bowl. But hey, here was the hand-picked, likeable successor, always smiling and positive, who would make sure UW didn't slip back into mediocrity. There was no need to right the ship, rather to simply maintain, tweak, and eventually grow into something better. But what happened from the very first day, week, month? - there did not seem to be a plan with his head-scratching hires. By the way, have any of those hires impressed thus far? Then UW played, frankly, like shit in 3 of his 4 games, all at home, while Jimmy kept smiling. Recruiting seemed to suffer, and Jimmy kept smiling.
In fairness, it isn't just Jimmy that people are questioning. It is the UW athletic department. But Football is the face of that department, and Jimmy is the face of football. And what else have people had to do with their last 20 months or so?? We're waiting to see what he's got in store for us, but a great deal of what has happened thus far has been alarming.- "Of course, these naysayers will disappear into the wind should Lake have a big season or they'll suddenly reverse themselves and gush about his decision-making propensity and his team's innate toughness and resilience."
We want Rose Bowls and Playoffs. Anything else and our? coach can fuck off.
cheers--

I hope Jimmy coordinated with Raley to push this puff piece out there. That would indicate some level of giving a shit.
But given the rest of the content I've seen come out of the clowns who license the corpse of Sports Illustrated's name, I'm guessing Raley is doing this all on his own accord. -
Fast-food culture huh?
We’re the real die hards you fucking pandering doog. Your take is Willingham era copy-paste. Smells like twat. -
Who is Dan Raley? Seriously. Never heard of him.
If this column is any indication of his other efforts, he’s a lazy writer.
He’s obviously going after the #1 Husky fan site but why? Is it simply to try and get noticed? -
Solid idea for a shitty sig.Quietcowskee said:Fast-food culture huh?

Former PI Guy, now running an SI site. Our own DJ is more relevant.doogie said:Who is Dan Raley? Seriously. Never heard of him.

How dare you.gif
Too funny, the best part is taking shots at fans that have never gotten off the couch when Raley has consistently demonstrated that he doesn't really know much about football... -
What it comes down to is a fast-food culture of fandom. These people don't care if a deadly pandemic happened or not
You people are horrible people according to experts -

This is Softy level Doog click bait. After decades of mostly average or below coaches, this jerk makes the fans with expectations into the bad guy.

nice backhanded compliment. It's a lost art.MelloDawg said:

"The message here is not that you can't or shouldn't criticize the UW leader. We media types regularly do it all the time with the various Seattle sporting authorities. At least let this coaching racehorse get out of the chute first."
THE HELL YOU DO DAN. Who are you trying to fool? You always have your head rammed straight up Jimmy Lake's ass. -
Typical weak Seattle sports media bullshit.
Also, you know this guy this ready to call critical Husky fans racist in 3, 2, 1... -
Yikes.
I love how short memories are. Petersen had all kinds of doubt and shit flung at him before his first season. The doogman crowd was still pining for Sark. They criticized the lack of excitement and sizzle in his recruiting even as he quickly cobbled together a class loaded with NFL players. They bitched because he didn't retain Tui or Tosh. The overall mood on doogman was decidedly negative toward Pete from the very beginning. -

Beyond the lazy, ill-conceived recruiting strategy (which my doog self thinks can be somewhat rectified with a monster year), what irks my ire the most is that instead of hiring a big name OC, or a proven FBs/D2 OC ready for the big leagues, or a valued assistant on an existing explosive P5 offense, he looked at this resume and said this is the guy I want running the offense:
That was his first big time hire. You couldn't be more aggressively underwhelming than that. Jimmy also seems both overly prideful and sensitive. A bad combination. For example, he personally liked this tweet lol:
On a macro level I'm glad he agrees but why is he reading or caring about any of that random shit on Twitter. Win now or we sail into the West.
