Welcome to Washington's version of the Helfrich years. You'll have a good season this year riding with Pete's guys, then a small decline in 2023, with an epic collapse in 2024. The question then becomes, does the administration have the balls to pull the plug on Lake after year four, or will they give him year five?
Close, but instead of an “epic collapse,” the portal will enable a nice 7 win sark into eternity.
And seven wins keeps him employed forever
Does it get him to the real goal in the League (iltcit)? Honest question, I don’t know how that works.

Remember, Oregon won a Rose Bowl and made a title game with Helfrich. While so far Lake has "won the north"
This sounds just like the dumb husky fans who insisted Mario was sark. LIPO

James Lake has taken a program that Pete elevated to the first or second spot in recruiting in the conference and turned it into a fucking safety school. We have had 13, mostly midtier players commit to our coaches to sign with them in December. Of those, 5 have decommitted and 4 have committed elsewhere already (Texas, Oregon, Stanford, Notre Dame).
Kids are locking in their spot with us to be safe and moving to greener pastures.
This isn't about one position or one struggling assistant coach, these are commits from both sides of the ball and four different position groups.
We have leveled the fuck down.
And there's no telling how many more levels we will go.

Jimmy and Staff have a B problem.
They can't close on their "A" guys off their big board, so are having to hopefully sign their plan B (or even lower rated) guys.
Too many of the kids that are verbally/silently committing to this staff are using UW as their plan B back-up school until a better offer comes along.

This staff can’t stay out of their own way. Recruiting this season and last have been terrible and there seems to be no attempts to fix any of the issues. Jimmy appears to lack a closer’s mentality.

If we win a playoff game and go to the natty, I’ll take it over any recruiting wins right now.

Well Cliff Kingsbury was hired by Arizona
No defensive coach is getting a NFL head job unless they do very well in college. Jimmy needs to win to get NFL suitors.
Unless Jimmy gets caught offering dead hookers to croots by the NCAA, there is no way UW fires him.
He can coast ten years at U-Dub with 7 and 8 win seasons and occasional 9 win campaign for fucking ever….
If he ever wins ten, he’ll get a lifetime contract. Lmao at his seat getting hot if he doesn’t win 9 next year.
Please.
This season and next will be hard to completely botch. He'll win 9-10 and that will get an extension.
Thsts not permanent though. The Ty approach to recruiting that he's taking is going to catch up. He's a way better coach so there's no 0-12 coming, but hovering around .500 and struggling to make pre Christmas bowl games, none of which are likely to exist for much longer, isn't going to keep him employed forever.

My biggest fear. If Lake goes 7-5 every year he will be here in 2038.

Jimmy's recruiting is annoying but the 3*s he's taking are much better than some of the guys Sark and Ty took. Going around .500 could get him fired, but my concern is he's decent enough to get stuck in the 7-5/8-4 purgatory.
I don't like the Sark comparisons because they aren't that alike as coaches, but I think we'll see similar results once Pete's players graduate.

Fire Harris now. Fire everyone if we dont win at least 9 games.
Hth
You guys are fucking insane if you think otherwise.
Jen had no problem firing Romar but she picked Jimmy, and like Hop, Jimmy is her guy and she's got all her guys in there and they are here to stay.
Hope Jimmy with Pete's guys > Hop with Romar's guys and that Jimmy>Hop on getting new and better guys.
