Literacy rates are high, but the Government restricts what information you can read and hear.

The ruling elites (nomenklatura) live good lives. The mass of people receive what is left over (information, food, water, electricity, basic necessities, health care, medicine). -

Talk to any expatriate from Cuba. Their love of freedom and hate for Communism has waned very little over the past 60+ years.
