I have no issue with it. I just always feel like it's a feel good measure because they just move their money by the time it goes into place

This doesn't work. Most rich people are smart. They push their money off-shore, find tax free investments, etc. Therefore, the trickle down comes down to the middle class.

Why don't we go back to the fine idea of a flat tax and simplify (i.e. eliminate) much of the tax process? I would vote for this before a system that goes after successful people, what type of culture does that breed?

The appreciation on long held assets hasn't been taxed. Large fortunes primarily consist of appreciated assets. And tracking the flows in order to discover tax evasion wouldn't be insurmountable at all. Plus the prize would be large. All that said, this won't get enacted anytime soon. It could be useful, however, as a vehicle for looking at the tax code and how it favors the establishment of a permanent upper class and an oligarchy.
