I don't think we'll go crazy high end appliance. Probably another Jenn Air down draft and what run of the mill decent fridge. We ain't in the country club so I don't need to go all Viking or shit like that. I think it's important to not overspend on shit of which you won't make it back if you had to sell the home.

    I'm open to quartz.

One thing we did in our latest remodel was porcelain countertops. Looks like marble but you don't have to put up with all of the porous bullshit. Significantly cheaper too.

Another corner you can cut is buying IKEA cabinets but adding third party panels on front so they don't look like IKEA.

Another penny pinching protip. I got a Bertazonni dual fuel range. Probably 1/2 price of the wolf/Viking etc brands and I’ve been very happy. Pretty stylish too.

Always about replacing the blacks with you

You don't show up for weeks and this is what you come up with?

I can't complain ... I ventured over to @RaceBannon 's shit hole forum and found myself sucked into another dark topic, only to have it twisted and fucked up and thrown back at me.

Notwithstanding the clarity and perspective added to said thread, I was lambasted with insults and not even one thank you.

Fuck you Racebannon. You can have my charity clicks for today.

FWIW, our realtor (this is in SF mind you) told us if we were going ever going to sell, to get a Wolf, Wolf, or a Wolf. Apparently those red knobs pay for themselves and more when buyers come through.

I believe it. But that Bertazonni is a nice-looking range.

    Yes, and yes.

I see a flooring question coming in this thread.

    That was funny.

Don't take it to the Tug. Leave it here.

Fun fact: the Wolf cooktop came with red knobs and stainless steel knobs.

Porcelain? Does it chip? Is it tuff? Harbor Tuff? What about quartz? I've heard that shit is indestructible.

$30k gets you a Tug kitchen. $60k gets you a @creepycoug Finance Bored kitchen.

    Who are you?

    What do you think?

Honestly? I've never done it. The we raised the kids in was nice when we bought the house, but as we approached the last several years before selling, it had clearly become dated. Of course, I wasn't going to remodel a kitchen for someone else, and the house had skrong location advantages that would overcome some of the things I was too cheap to do.

That said, I've known people who've spent anywhere from $30k on the very low end to over $80, which isn't hard when you start throwing around Wolf and Sub-Zero shit. That shit alone will get you to $30k easily. Because you're not just getting the Wolf Range, you're getting the double oven and the matching micro and all that shit. And you're going to redo your floor - @RaceBannon - and when you start talking cabinets the dolla bills start flying like you're in an Atlanta strip club.

Looks like a @creepycoug lean but you seem to be entertaining a Tug budget.

The Wolf/Sub-Zero name is worth the premium in product, prestige, and value.

While a much smaller expense, if you don’t get a Miele dishwasher I’ll come down there and punch you in the throat.

See id spend for that kind of shit because I like buying good stuff. Shit you buy once that's good and lasts is worth it imo.

Then you gotta get a good company to install etc and then I'm like fuck it let's just move.

I more like an $1100 Bosch dishwasher kind of guy. Super quiet and gets the shit clean. I have a down draft range on a island. Might limit my options some.
