A lot of good choices. Blood Diamond is also a great movie.

This year blows 1983 out of the water.

The Prestige is one of the best movies ever on the first watch, I'll fight anybody about this. It just isn't the same once you've seen the reveal. But incredible performance's by Bale and Jackman (and absolute peak Scarjo).

Borat combined one of the greatest concepts and execution ever accomplished. It probably deserved my vote.

300 was amazing. Casino Royale was incredible. Blood Diamond was very good as RoadDawg noted. Idiocracy is better now than it was then, full blown cult classic.

    Loaded year.

Obvious fix was obvious but if you haven't seen the film you may not understand it when written that way

Ourº recent rewatch delivered. I remembered the end but little else. The beard remembered nothing. Great movie. I think I agree on you're peak ScarJo observation.

Holy shit I've never seen the Departed but if it's legitimately a worthy choice as best movie of 2006 it goes to the top of my must watch list.

My brain says Departed, but my heart votes Borat. Doubtful that another film has fully entered my daily lexicon like Borat. I think the first time I had a beer with @PurpleBaze I spoke only in Borat voice.

I'm guessing the discussion was based on hatred for The Jews.

    Sad really.

FWIW my hebrew friends LITERALLY almost died laughing at this scene.

Anytim Mrs DNC and I see a yard sale I ask her if she wants to look on the gypsy's treasures.

"The Jews have shifted their shapes", "what's up with it", "he was a genuine chocolate face (no makeup!)", "Pam ella", "do not fear me gypsy, all I want from you is your tears", "who is this lady you have shrunk", "you are retard?", hell dude even made "Not!" have a comeback...Just chinsanely quotable and legitimately laugh until you hurt the first tim though.

Please to be changing my vote.

    I stan Kazakhstan.

It was a contest of who could do Borat voice better. @PurpleBaze being asshole from Uzbekistan has the accent advantage but my take on Borat is pretty good.

We made fun of gypsies, not Jewish peoples.
Having heard both your Borat impersonations, I have to say @PurpleBaze’s is better.

    Sorry Yella.
    Not a fair fight.
    True!

Fuck yeah, thank you. I felt like the only one who thought it sucked. It's a mob movie by Scorsese, though, so everyone has to love it. I'm pretty sure Salvon Ahmed could have found and exploited the holes in that plot. In terms of lack of holes, that plot is worse than the Pullman Speed D°. In the snow°.

I like a lot of these. Idocracy, The Prestige (rewatched last week, good movie), Borat, 300, etc.

The Live of Others is superior.

    F me, forgot another.

Something holds it back from being a top 10-20 all timmer for me, and I don’t know what. Still amazing movie.

Only seen it once, remember really liking it but can't recall much about it.
