Yes, this is an actual Luxury Yacht for sale today in Washington

According to Dori Monson, property taxes are going to go up between $2,000-$5,000 per household if the proposed legislation passes in Olympia.doogie said:Washington is set to impose a new 10% surcharge tax on “Luxury Yachts”. This is in addition to the New gas taxes and current sales tax. Here are some pictures of some of the Luxury yachts impacted by the proposed new fee

Can I get links for any of this? I've been looking, and all I see is proposed capital gains taxes for over $50K for couples and property taxes for households over $9 million or something like that. I've not seen anything about boats. In fact, when I googled "Washington 10% surcharge tax luxury yachts," the very first hit (and the ONLY hit that had anything to do with the subject) was this very thread right here. This is definitely the first time for me that this site has been at the top of the list in a Google search. Mostly because fat chick porn exists...

You've obviously never Googled the words "Stump Van Nostrom"...1to392831weretaken said:Can I get links for any of this? I never needed to google that name. Ferndale is right in my backyard, so I was always able to watch Stump play live.DerekJohnson said:

If you're going to bash Merc outboards, I'm the fuck out.
Pretty sure my stickers were about $45 last year. And The Throbber's boat is sure as fuck nicer than any in the OP.

This thread has been short on facts and heavy on conjecture.
I, like every other high browed member of @creepycoug's elitist club, want to understand the finer nuances of this alleged yacht tax so we can start putting our mooring contingency plans in place if need be. We can save the hawt Dori Monson talk for the Tug. -
Anything in Washington is/will be subject to tax including POS dinghys Most everything in Idaho is/will not. Including 'yachts' and there are plenty of those on Lake CDA and Lake Pend Oreille.GreenRiverGatorz said:This thread has been short on facts and heavy on conjecture.

Which is why everybody I know is contemplating making their summer home in Idaho their permanent address and their Washington address their 2nd home. Proveitbitch.gif that permanent residence isn't 30 miles away.
That's high brow economics and estate planning for middle/upper middle class folk.

Idaho has a 7% income tax for highest earners and 6% sales tax that's hardly better than Washington's, a state that has no income tax. If you want to save money by making Idaho your permanent address, I hope you're unemployed.

We here in @creepycoug 's den prefer the proper names: 'income sheltering', 'asset protection', 'wealth management' or 'sophisticated tax strategies'.

It is every American's God-given and inalienable right to minimize or avoid taxes. It's in the Geneva Convention. Look it up!PurpleThrobber said:

... Price reduced 25k. This is truly a great deal on a like new classic Monk. Over $419,000 in upgrades, have all receipts to prove it.HuskyJW said:I'd take the last one for sure.

It does. But it's appropriate size for an inland waterway. Can't stand those motherfuckers that throw off big rollers in their wake. Fucking Californians.HuskyJW said:I'd take the last one for sure.

And fuck inner tubers. Can't stand those cunts spinning around in circles creating chop.
I'm picky about my pristine N. Idaho water staying smooth as glass.

The Malarkey is skrong in this thread.
Since we've been a little slow, I'll allow it. -
Pardon me, fine Club members. I assure you it is a proposal. Been busy today so I’m going back to try and find it. Bottom line on the boat tax seemed to be a one time 10% surcharge upon sale or title transfer on boats 50k and up.
As you can see in the op, that 18’ aluminum is $51k. So it doesn’t take much to trigger the “luxury” label
I’ll track down the link in time but that’s the gist -
We always had a nice boat
Hated it.
I like the jetskis better -
So literally every Cobalt R series is going to have a minimum $10,000 added to the price tag? Are you fucking kidding me?doogie said:Pardon me, fine Club members. I assure you it is a proposal. Fuck this state. I'm moving to Idaho with @PurpleThrobber . -
Had two. Gave them up when the kids got to drinking age. Easier to keep them from killings themselves. Or getting run over by those fucking Californians.Pitchfork51 said:We always had a nice boat
