If you're going to bash Merc outboards, I'm the fuck out.

Pretty sure my stickers were about $45 last year. And The Throbber's boat is sure as fuck nicer than any in the OP.

This thread has been short on facts and heavy on conjecture.

I, like every other high browed member of @creepycoug's elitist club, want to understand the finer nuances of this alleged yacht tax so we can start putting our mooring contingency plans in place if need be. We can save the hawt Dori Monson talk for the Tug.

Anything in Washington is/will be subject to tax including POS dinghys Most everything in Idaho is/will not. Including 'yachts' and there are plenty of those on Lake CDA and Lake Pend Oreille.

Which is why everybody I know is contemplating making their summer home in Idaho their permanent address and their Washington address their 2nd home. Proveitbitch.gif that permanent residence isn't 30 miles away.

That's high brow economics and estate planning for middle/upper middle class folk.

These are the tax avoidance schemes I subscribe for.

Idaho has a 7% income tax for highest earners and 6% sales tax that's hardly better than Washington's, a state that has no income tax. If you want to save money by making Idaho your permanent address, I hope you're unemployed.

The pours call it tax avoidance.

We here in @creepycoug 's den prefer the proper names: 'income sheltering', 'asset protection', 'wealth management' or 'sophisticated tax strategies'.

It is every American's God-given and inalienable right to minimize or avoid taxes. It's in the Geneva Convention. Look it up!
