It’s half than in terms of votes needed to be flipped. It’s so tiny assuming state legislators can get their act together and the crazy voting rights act doesn’t pass.Tequilla said:
And there’s been a shitshow by Trump since those votes were cast ...Bob_C said:
He lost by 42k votes. Too many extreme statements in your posts, that’s a rounding error as you know.Tequilla said:
This is the challenge for the GOP ...doogie said:
I don’t have a name for you but, the GOP needs to find a candidate that appeals to Trump voters.Tequilla said:If Trump runs and wins in 2024 this country is beyond fucked
It’s one thing to embrace a number of Trump’s policies ... another to be as blunt and in your face as he is
GOP needs to run someone that appeals better to the suburbs (particularly women)
Go ahead and flag away
They can’t win without pulling in the centrist voters ...
At the same time they can’t win with the ultra right wing fringe edge of the party ... who are Trump minions at this point ...
But the centrist voters have no desire to be connected with that far right wing ...
So something has to give at this point
I’d agree that 42K isn’t a crazy number in the grand scheme of things
I think that number is greater than 42K given what has happened
Yes he would have lost by more than 42k with a revote on Jan 7th. Though that gap has already been reversed to some extent already on Jan 21st and will continue to erode. Republicans need to stay out of the crosshairs for a little while. Just sit back and let them try and govern, they people will see it.
On paper 2024 should be a slam dunk based on the policy, culture and candidates that Trump or someone else is going against. Noem and Ron together would crush it if we let them and don't make the stupid mistake of going with someone Nebraska classy. -
Trump actually won in 2016 something his worst critics can't claim. McCain and Mitt LOST
Beating Hillary was something despite revisions of history since
In fact, it led to the late rule changes by the Gay Cabal that Time Mag reported on
The GOP is in a popular vote slump and that isn't likely to change. Its the same handful of counties and states that matter and the Dems did what they needed to so to win while the GOP chased rabbits down the hole all year.
