Can someone explain to my technologically limited brain how Apple can ban something on the internet? Technically how do they prevent you from using your browser to go to a site?

They pulled the app from the Apple Store and Safari. So millions of people on iPhones can’t access it on an app, but a PC version exists on windows. I only use my PC for Word and Excel at work. Easier to type that ways. iPhone and iPad are what my family uses otherwise.
