Oregon lucks out once again

The Kelley stuff isn't in this thread. It was a Doog standard from the time. One of the company lines was that Kelley's RPO offense was "soft" and wasn't physical and was gimmicky. Not real football. The other doog narrative was that any QB in that system had no NFL career potential because he wasn't going through traditional read progressions and learning how to be Joe Montana. That pearl from the Doog brain trust hasn't aged well either.chuck said:
I glossed over most of the thread and missed that whole section. JFC.creepycoug said:This thread is embarrassing. All my years with this band of misfits, the #1 lesson I was taught is "winners win" and losers rationalize and talk ifs, ands and buts. Lotta rationalizing going on here. Gotta admit: some of it's pretty creative.
What do you want them to do? Say that your loser ex-coach's losses were better than their loser coach's wins? Lolz. This whole thing always comes off as so terribly insecure. It would be funny if it weren't so pitiful.
This is the same crowd that used to say Chip Kelley was gimmicky, then when he left insisted he was a great coach and Oregon would never recover.
Now the brain trust wants to posit that the defending champ Seminoles weren't as good as a two-loss PSU team? Lolz. GMAFB.
It's still not doogman.
I dont know if it's worth arguing whether Chip had a gimmick or if that's the wrong choice of words. He made offensive juggernauts out of a lot of nontraditional talent and nontraditional scheming. He was a great coach while he was there but it wasn't just because of his offense. His teams played well and were dangerous on both sides of the ball and special teams.
There were at least two teams under the chipster that I'd give at least a shot at the big 3 teams right now. The tOSU team they lost to was as impressive as anyone I've seen since the BCS, and they could have caught a couple of breaks and been in that game to the end. They should have beaten a really good Auburn team in the NC game.
Fuck em anyways...football started in 1994, hick town school, faggy, 12s style fan base, Oregonians suck at driving, etc.
So we go from Kelley cheats, hammer immimnet, gimmicky system that's bad for QBs, flashy uniforms, lack of substance, etc. etc. etc. to Oregon won't survive Kelley's departure. Narrative immediately flips to Oregon stumbled onto the winning lottery ticket and then lost it. They'll never recover, Chip was a once-in-a-lifetime, Peterman wants to be at UW forever, things will finally be restored to their rightful permanent natural order and USC will again really respect UW.
Doogs been waiting for Godot for a while now. Hopefully it goes better with Jimmy Shitballz.
Again, would be comical if it weren't so pitiful. Much like Miami fans I know who still, after all this time, can't stop using the word "swagger," in the same Doog sense of some fantasy return to a state of affairs that hasn't existed for eons. -

I'm glad, Oregon showed up. You can only be lucky if you show up. They deserve it. We don't.

Don't ever say envy for UO again. Even jokingly.

Fuck off.
Mr. 5g.
Get lost, shitdick. Crawling out of your hole after this season to shoot off your cockgobbler is as funny and pathetic as your 5g bullshit. You know the CIA and NSA can read your thoughts if you watch bowl games, right? Then they sell your thoughts to the Chinese.
Your thoughts will fetch a solid $.81 -
Oregon did beat Russ in the Rose Bowl, so there’s that.

You really should not put FSU and the 2015 Rose Bowl in that category. How is PSU better than the defending national champs with a roster full of NFL players? How is it obvious that even the Buck team UW played is automatically better than FSU? The Buck team that beat Washington was not the Buck team that beat Oregon and Mariota.RatherBeBrewing said:

A simple acknowledgement would suffice. Yeah winner's win, but winning against our NY6 opponents is a different kind of winning that no Pac 12 school has been at since 2012 or so.
And yes that is the game I put most of the blame on UW for, but they were still a (much) better opponent than the 3 Oregon foes I listed off.
Barkley's 80 yard td run off of just his talent was the difference in that game.
I do agree that Oregon keeps getting B level opponents in premier bowl games. It is what it is, and in the long term it doesn’t matter. Rose and Fiesta trophies look the same no matter who was beat to acquire them.
That Rose Bowl had a lot of NFL players on the field. Neither team in that match up has to apologize to Washington for anything. I don't think Oregon could pull off the ass kicking over them again if they played 10 games, but they were clearly good enough to beat them. Mariota was the real deal. Anyone who doesn't think so is fully retarded. -
2018 tOSU and 2017 PSU are better than 2019 Wisconsin and 2020 Iowa State.creepycoug said:

There isn't on field results or anything to prove that, but we're talking about 2 blue bloods who were loaded with talent and barely missed the playoffs.
2016 Alabama is better than 2014 FSU, and there isn't an argument that can be made against that.
So you can 1:1 compare our NY6 bowls with theirs in the last 6 years and pretty easily say that they've lucked out wrt their opponents.
It's nothing UW shouldn't have been able to overcome, but the denial if this fact pisses me off about Oregon's "hardcore football" fans.

Oregon and Washington had zero control who their opponents were for these games. You play the team you get matched with. Oregon won and Washington didn’t. There isn’t a try hard trophy for the runner up based on your opponent.haie said:

You have a fellow doog here breaking down the superiority of the three teams to which Washington lost its bowl games. I might suggest your attention here is misdirected. -
Here's another spin: Washington got its shit pushed in by each of those teams and made it look respectable late. You? were down 28-7 at half to a two-loss Penn State team that gets more legendary here all the time.haie said:

I'm guessing most people aren't denying the fact that you had a tougher draw in the last three bowl games. I'm guessing they find it annoying you want them to agree with you. About as annoyed as a reasonable Husky would be if a Duck approached them and wanted them to acknowledge that the 2014 Buck team that beat Oregon was better than the 1991 Michigan team that Washington beat. This is essentially what you're up to.
