Healthy Price on 2016 team is 5 times better than Browning.RoadDawg55 said:
Browning > Price. 2016 Browning had the best season and Browning was never as bad as Price was in 2012. A lot more wins by Browning. But Sark, John Ross, Price outplayed RG3.. We don’t play hypotheticals. It will be an unpopular decision here, but it’s the truth.RaceBannon said:Is healthy Keith Price still the best QB since Cody Pickett? What the hell is going on out there?!
Ok Browning did what he was asked when he was healthy but still its pretty fucking grim
Going off of my Pup memory
Warren Moon
Tom Flick
Steve Pueller
Chris Chandler
Hugh Millen (LOL but he won an Orange Bowl and popped off)
Cory Conklin
Mark Brunell
Billy Dough Hobert
Huards 1 and 2
Tui
Pickett
Most local so Sam has that going fo him which is nice. Lindy and Sirmon were also local but still
Do I have a point here? Not really -
Different sort of specimen than Sirmon, I'd say. Lindy looked like someone REAL Nebraska could have rode. Big, strong white QB. That was most disappointing thing to me, Lindy wasn't even a great runner at UW in his chances.creepycoug said:Like I said, I watched him play in person multiple tims in HS. Obvi big, strong and good arm. For whatever reason, the fact that he was also terribly erratic and pick-prone didn't hit his rep, but fuck all I saw it person. Even against the really bad teams, like Inglemoor, where it should have felt like a light practice, he'd throw terrible picks. I somewhat wrote it off to trying to play hero ball and always looking for the big pass on every down, but I also wondered if that's just who he was. Some guys are accurate and some aren't. Some of the picks were of the "who are you throwing to there?" variety. Shouldn't happen with frequency in HS when you yourself, and your team, are just better than everybody else.
Lindy 2 is somewhat accurate, though Lindy was arguably even more of a specimen. From many accounts close to the situation, Pete wanted Lindy to work out because he was such a threat to run, but he could never get his accuracy to the point where Pete could trust him. That's where Price had him with room to spare. -
This can't be overstated. He really did seem to be happy for the team and wasn't moping on the sidelines.RoadDawg55 said:He’s a goofy bastard and sucks at QB, but he seemed like he had a positive attitude and was supportive of Morris and the team.
No ill will from me on this one, he stuck it out and gave it a shot.
Covid gifted him another year of eligibility, with his size and arm strength he'll get another opportunity to showcase and (maybe) develop into something. -
Don't know him personally. I've met and socialized with his parents on a few occasions and have met the kid himself once or twice. Nice people, good family, all that. He has a good rep in Bothell circles, which can be a judgy and somewhat prudish bunch. It sometimes feels like the northern midwest there. Kids who are assholes at BHS are known among the parent community. Bainter doesn't suffer bad kids all that much in his program because what he's built there is a "all in" mentality. Bainter himself goes out of his way to be good to all of the supporting elements of BHS football, from the cheerleaders to the student body to the community itself, he knows how important community buy-in is to his program. Any kid in leadership position on his team is almost always a solid person. They're not like Bellevue football was. Not a mercenary program in the Bill Walsh sense. At all.Doogles said:

Let's not overthink this. Browning had the #1 defense in the conference four straight years. A defense that never gave up more than 35 points. More than 28 only 7 times.CuntWaffle said:Lets not overthink this. Browning won 2 Pac 12 titles, Pac 12 offensive player of the year (yes John Ross probably deserved it more but still), and was the QB of the most successful Husky 3 years stretch in a long time. Obvously Myles Gaskin helped him be successful but at the end of the day he still won those games.
And yet he lost 15 games. -
Best wishes to him in his future endeavours
-
You can't dock him for having the best defense. Was he suppose to request a shitty defense? All I am saying is people do mental gymnastics like crazy to try and prove why Browning wasn't the best QB we have had in a long while. No one is saying he was elite, but he was the best QB the Huskies have had in awhile. Now if your argument is all Husky QBs have been shit including him then fine, he was still the best of the shitpile though.FremontTroll said:

If your criteria is WINS then yes I can "dock him" because the defense was largely responsible for our wins. It is "mental gymnastics" to say otherwise.CuntWaffle said:

Defense / Gaskin / WRs / special teams Dante.. Brownsocks is pretty far down the list.FremontTroll said:

How many college students who aren’t athletes get tattoos of or quote Bible verses in social media? Kids who can get into colleges that aren’t BYU, Rice, Liberty on their own academic merits generally care little for such things.
Whatever, best of luck. -
Is it your impression that Rice is a religous institution at all, much less along the order of the other two? I've never thought of it that way.DoogmanRefund said:How many college students who aren’t athletes get tattoos of or quote Bible verses in social media? A kid who can get into Rice is very fucking smart and accomplished. The other two are not in that league. -
This is all the result of Petersen's church school recruiting.DoogmanRefund said:How many college students who aren’t athletes get tattoos of or quote Bible verses in social media? I don’t know. I was struggling to come up with religious schools that have sports teams. I was going to say Biola. Admittedly know very little about Rice.creepycoug said:

Everytim I saw him on the sideline he had his head held high, smiling, cheering, jumping around supporting his teams mates.
Good guy in my book, wish him luck at Fresno state. -
I had Rice confused with Oral Roberts. I may not be qualified to judge anyone’s academic standing.DoogmanRefund said:

Price has always been the HHB doog legend because he was better than Locker, played for Sark, and was treated unfairly and his failures were used to prop up Sark.
Taylor fucking Kelly was a way better college QB than Price. He was never better than a middle of the conference QB, even in 2011. -
Less about being a doog legend and more about how fucking horrible we have been at getting and developing qb’s.RoadDawg55 said:Price has always been the HHB doog legend because he was better than Locker, played for Sark, and was treated unfairly and his failures were used to prop up Sark.

I am team price in the debate but let’s not pretend that this isn’t Anythig more than a fight in the back of the short bus.
Browning and locker both sucked also.

Price was definitely at least middle of the Pac12 in 2011 dude. Come on.

My buddy's nephew played against him when he was at Bothell and said he had no idea why any P5 school would offer him a scholarship. (buddy's nephew is currently playing for one of the academies) -
He’ll end up in the ACC, MWC, or Big 12. Cook it.HairyBallsDawg said:

Nah, he isn't the type. He had great things to say about Ahmed, who he also played against.backthepack said:HairyBallsDawg said:

Physically talented kid that never has lived up to his physical talents at any level. Just not good. Why would any other school want him at the p5 level. Nobody was after him the first time he entered the portal.
-
Because teams are going to take a flier on physical talent every time. I hope he goes somewhere like Tejas Tech.AtomicDawg said:
