The word has been really slow to get out. In my historical experience, people in the west have tended to lump hispanics into one big political category of rainbow coalition, liberal, union-loving workers with socialist tendencies. Our friend, @oregonblitzkrieg literally proved this point for us about a year ago now.
It is only recently that it's becoming common knowledge that the Sowf Florida hispanic is a conservative and militantly anti-communist.
It's funny because it's been true pretty much since Castro's revolution. It has taken a lot of Americans a while to catch on. We? don't all think alike because we have pretty different background stories. Go figure. -

Having the home remodeled. The cabinet guy is Russian orthodox that emigrated in the 1980s in his tweens. Hates the dems. Like white hot hate. Can't figure out how anyone would consider adopting communism. Has no idea how we could elect a chicom symp as President. The owner of the paint company is Mexican and hugely successful. He hates the dems. He told me if the cartel in Mexico knew how successful he was he would have uncles and cousins kidnapped and held for ransom. The current Mexican president isn't owned by the cartels and he is pretty sympatico with Trump about the danger of the cartels. He hates Slo Joe. American leftards think MS-13 are just swell guys.

I think your right but it's the illegals and relatives of illegals that are all in for the left. All my Mexican friends are indeed republicans and anti-commie solid Americans. I do have one or two that are democrats and they will not accept what happened to their party. They simply don't believe it. That's an interesting thought because I have noticed that the legal weed prices be letting me know that the state is driving the price high enough to leave room for the illegal grower. In fact my last trip I told the kid behind the counter just that. I've been buying weed rom shady characters for decades son. In Cali, the local municipalities are getting their mitts into the game and passing local taxes in addition to the state taxes. Ergo, your @dflea sativa price is going up.RaceBannon said:

I'll @RaceBannon or @UW_Doog_Bot to jump in here, but people who are of Mexican ancestry have been in Cali for a long, long tim, including those who are left and right of center. On the left, I think it historically tends to be more focused on labor = Cezar Chavez and that whole movement come to mind - than with ideas about political economy. And if we're going to be even handed about this, people of Mexican ancestry have always been in the SW U.S. just like @Swaye 's people. So there's that indelicate fact with which to contend.Sledog said:

Mexican people run the political spectrum too. If I were to generalize, they tend to lean toward social conservatism. My impression is that a good % of illegals from south of the border continue to come for work. I suspect the reason those people are illegal is that it's not easy to get permission to stay.
Said another way, they? aren't all the same either. -

The legal growers smuggle their weed to states where it is illegal and rake in a lot more dollars. So you have to compete with illegal weed and that's another reason your price is higher.RaceBannon said:

YUUUGE generational gap with Hispanics in Cali. First generation is as you describe. Later generations like being told it isn't their fault they didn't get ahead bc racism. Nothing to do with bad grades, work ethic, or majoring in Latin American studies.creepycoug said:

LE facts doesn’t explain market dynamics. It is universal: more competition, not less, leads to leads to lower prices.Sledog said:

Most or all of how drug use effects others is directly tied to the existence of a black market.
That is pretty hard to dispute. Make it legal and most of that shit goes away. -

The misunderstanding of the Hispanic electorate is amusing. The left is finally starting to figure it out, but trotting out loosened immigration as your go-to issue doesn't carry much salience with Hispanics who are already legal and voting. Go figure.creepycoug said:The word has been really slow to get out.
