Running Backs Suck

Giving McGrew a few carries is fine. Pleasant shouldn’t get any.
I had a feeling this four RB shit wouldn’t work. You can’t get four guys in a rhythm. I remember USC did it after Bush/White and it hurt the rhythm of their offense. UW is doing it now with even worse backs than USC had.
Stick with two guys. Give Davis 10+ and McGrew 5. Pleasant can come in for a couple third downs, maybe two min offense since they like his blocking so much.
Take the training wheels off Morris. He’s earned it. -
I assume a big reason why Pleasant got multiple second half carries despite not producing is they needed him in the game as the team's best pass-blocking RB.
...which they needed because they were so far behind. Which again points to a retarded scheme/game plan that got them in that position.

Our running game is absolute shit in all 3 phases. The running plays are repetitive, the interior o line is bad, and the running backs are not good (Davis shows promise).
I'd be all for a pass heavy offense from here on out.
On another note, Moorhead doesn't look any better than Donavon -

But the relatively pedestrian running game has a lot more to do with well below average run blocking by the OL than the JAG RBs and their shitty rotation. -
You’d think a running backs coach would do better

Yeah the o line run blocking is some of the worst I've seen. No push, no opening holes, just snapping the ball and then falling into each otherHouhusky said:

The good news is that even Mario and his sec line suck running this year
Cal is actually better at running than either UO or UW. They practice what we run our mouth about. Cal had Stanford beat 3 ways until they turned over the game. Cal gashed the ducks but even so need passing to actually finish the drives.
You need to be good at everything to be a good team

What am I missing on Cam Davis that everyone loves him so much? Is it a stars thing?
