Well, fren, in the 25 years of and on that I have been a registered voter in Seattle, I voted GOP in every Federal, State and Local election with one notable exception- i.e., not voting for Trump in 2016. But I'm pretty sure you voted Dem early and often at the state and local levels and you reaped the rewards.
Moving to Bend like every other west of the mountains lib that enjoys the outdoors is humorous and par for the course.
Maybe I'm wrong, but if I'm not, don't make the same fucking mistake and turn Bend into Eugene.
Despite everything in Seattle I am blessed to have a good techish job and I enjoy living here, for the most part. Maybe I'll move one day, but until then I'll be fighting the good fight and will vote straight R. Who knows, the pendulum might even swing a little more towards sanity?
My wife and I are fortunate to be able to keep Seattle based income and live in Bend. It was a no brainier once this became a reality. It is overrun with California libs, but in comparison to Seattle it feels like Texas. We're in the most liberal part of town an instead of every other house having a BLM yard sign like my street in Seattle, maybe only 1 in 15 do here. That's progress if you ask me.

Other than that, not sure. -
Missoula is pretty liberal because the college basically runs the whole city. It was that way when I lived there 10-15 years ago. I imagine it’s even more so now.YellowSnow said:
So what city of 100,000 near the mountains in the Western USA isn't fairly liberal? SLC? Ask @89ute . Missoula is getting more liberal. Boise I guess but it doesn't appeal to me. And living the guns n' religion compound lifestyle like @PurpleThrobber ain't going work for us.LebamDawg said:

At its height, Detroit had the highest per capita income in the country. It looked nothing like the progressive shit hole it ultimately became. Detroit's industrial base was stunning. That kind of "permanent" infrastructure is "impossible" to replace ... until it ultimately was in several states and on several continents. The city was also a major cultural center with some of the finest museums and art galleries in the country. Nearby were some of the finest country clubs, golf courses and yacht clubs. City government went all in with progressive policies that pushed out those with high incomes to nearby suburbs. Riots accelerated that trend ultimately killing the city, and some real gems along with it, including Belle Isle.UW_Doog_Bot said:

Seattle-ites tend to be very provincial. They think Puget Sound is "god's gift" to the world and fail to see parallels such as these. Seattle's situation is more tenuous than many care to recognize. It has become largely a one trick pony, all in on tech that can exist anywhere, and there is a progressive/marxist local and state government all in on bleeding it dry. Boeing is doing the sensible thing with the 787. I would not be surprised to see others follow their example.

Detroit was the industrial giant of the world. Many of my family worked at various plants back in the day. Work was plentiful pay was good and it all got fucked partly because the unions went way to far and crazy demorat policies.

Well, fren, in the 25 years of and on that I have been a registered voter in Seattle, I voted GOP in every Federal, State and Local election with one notable exception- i.e., not voting for Trump in 2016. So I didn't reap shit. If you recall some of my earlier posts @PostGameOrangeSlices I was stuck in Seattle Public School hell waging a lonely fight again transgender pronoun studies for kindergartners and official BLM week in school.PostGameOrangeSlices said:
Yellow, first off fren, I like you.YellowSnow said:Seattle sucks. I voted with my feet and left. It's not going to become Detroit though.
But I'm pretty sure you voted Dem early and often at the state and local levels and you reaped the rewards.

That's where I'm at. I wouldn't piss on Trump if he was on fire. Difference is if Biden was on fire I'd look for gas.BleachedAnusDawg said:
