We want to go to Hawaii (Maui? Kauai? Not sure) in December....I see the 14 day quarantine is supposed to be lifted tomorrow so hopefully we can make plans to go.
Unless restaurants and all that are shut down...not really sure how it all is working there

Don't go introducing logic and real math examples. You'll make @HHusky blow a fuse trying to understand how that adds up in social justice warrior points.CFetters_Nacho_Lover said:
Hawaii’s shutdown has cost me at least $36,000 in gross revenue and about $24,000 in net revenue.RoadTrip said:Was supposed to go with 6 other families a month ago to Kapalua and stay at the Montage in 2 massive condos. Combined, we would have spent tens of thousands of dollars. Multiply this example by hundreds of thousands and you understand the billions Hawaii has lost in tourism due to the tyranny of extremely stupid and criminally corrupt state sponsors of terror like Hfag.
The state collects 15% of my gross in taxes. Multiply this by 40 other vacation rental units in my building drawing similar numbers and you’ll see just the tax hit Hawaii is voluntarily taking. Now add in my housekeeper. She’s out anywhere between $220 and $550 in monthly income on my unit alone. She has 2 other units in the building plus others on the island. Just our building alone, she’s out $600-$1500 in monthly income.

I think you should stay safe and stay home and monitor that left side of your chestHuskyJW said:We want to go to Hawaii (Maui? Kauai? Not sure) in December....I see the 14 day quarantine is supposed to be lifted tomorrow so hopefully we can make plans to go.

As an aside, there's some nice Hawaiian porn out there on the interwebs if you all get stuck at home.

Disagree. There was a way to allow tourism and they fucked it up. Big timeTequilla said:It’s tough for Hawaii but I can at least somewhat understand their position given that they are geographically isolated they can effectively insulate themselves from COVID
The tourism angle was fucked whether they shut it down or not so whatever
People aren’t lining up to fly ... and they certainly aren’t lining up to fly to places where typical activities when there aren’t on the table
In this case, the decision for Hawaii was effectively to isolate allowing the rest of the economy to remain open or stay open and operate at limited capacity levels
I don’t know the numbers but I can understand the logic ... and they are a unique example
Here’s evidence of why. Hawaii opens up to tourists tomorrow by dropping the 14-day self quarantine. They were suppose to open August 1st, then September 1st, then October 1st but couldn’t get their shit together.
At every announcement of reopening, I had 3-5 bookings for that month.
People are cooped up and sick of it. There are people who will line up to fly somewhere even if not all the typical activities are open. -
Easy. Math and logic are tools of white supremacy. Therefore you are a bigot and automatically lose the argumentBleachedAnusDawg said:

You're lucky you've been allowed to eat nachos off the backs of Hawaiians for any time at all!
